I also really liked the group Traffic and also still have all their early albums as well.....I think the younger generation today are missing out on the experience of buying an album and looking at the artwork/liner notes and the paper sleeve(to look at and see what other albums are available to buy).....instead they are buying one song at a time over the internet and getting inferior quality sound by buying music in the MP3 format..... Take it easy.....Leo

Wes, I really like your watch as it's very simple and easy to see and read without all the complications and stuff they are doing to watches today.......I have an older Omega in 18K gold and it's also analog with a simple dial...and only tells the time!!!
Take it easy.....Leo

I would love the return to vinyl records and would prefer buying music in this format.....as I have a very good stereo with an exceptional turntable...so I am all set. And as a matter of fact tomorrow there is a record show where you can pick up used vinyl and CD's...and I plan on attending to see what I might be able to pick up!!! Take it easy.....Leo

Michelle, Lisa, Wes and Leo (if you were talking to me...), thank you for your compliments! Jaeger-Lecoultre has been a brand I've liked since I started to read about them and the simplicity and small size of their older models have been really attractive to me!
Lisa, Kyle L sold it to me on this very forum, the condition is just greay and if anybody restored it over the years (which is possible given its age) the job was certainly not a big one as it barely shows! I don't know the exact year but it has been described as coming from the 1940's.

Opps.....my mistake...thanx for pointing out my error.....and Carl, your watch is beautiful because it has a nice open uncluttered dial face and it's very easy to read the time and also because it flies under the radar.....wear in the best of health!!!
Btw.....Wes aren't we about due for your weekly contribution to our collective addiction.....and please play us another selection on the ivory keys!!! Take it easy.....Leo

Thank you again Leo, I agree with you about it flying under the radar, I really like it!
Thomas, thank you for your kind words! Funny how those rather small watches are so unpopular nowadays! Whether you take a look at a brand like Jaeger-Lecoultre or Omega you can have a much better deal on a 32mm watch than a 34mm. I clearly see the difference on the wrist but personally I feel like both wear great (I like it anyway)... ...Ah well, I guess it just means I'll have better deals!

Carl, after seeing pictures of your JLC.....it makes me want to get my gold Omega from about 1971 overhauled so I can start wearing it again. It has a very plain dial with markers at each of the 5 minute markers and the only writing is the word Omega(and no date indicator). I have attempted to look it up on the Internet and have had no luck up to this point in finding any info on it.....here are a couple of pictures. As you can see it needs a new crown and a full overhaul and cleaning...as I have not worn the watch since about 1972 when it broke!!!
Take it easy.....Leo

Art, if you like this watch you should look at the pictures I posted of my Dad's Breitling Navitimer that I inherited from my Dad.....it's a second generation and dated to 1957!!!

I know I would like it. I have a Chronomat. Will post a pic later. I love old Navitimers. They seem to be under appreciated on this forum.

Yes, I do agree but it's kind of funny but once I mentioned that I had and posted pictures of the Navitimer, I received many PM's asking me to give them first dibs if I planned on selling it, which of course I am not planning on selling.....I will get it overhauled by a professional who has access to original parts...and then start wearing it in rotation with my GMT Pepsi.......that is if I can figure out how to get that watch off my wrist!!! Take it easy.....Leo

Hey Lisa, are you still drinking Tea or have you gone back to Coffee? Tea really comes into it's own in winter time. And what you really need is a variety biscuit box, I swear I could export these to the US and make a fortune. Now where shall I start on these.

/\ looking good Wes.. I agree.. .
Im not a big tea drinker..but we recently discovered a wonderful treat while on our cruise with a stop in Turkey. There we were introduced to 'apple tea' We were offered and served this while shopping..(another story). We both loved the apple tea. Served hot..and cold. Very interesting flavour.. We brought some home. Ingredients are apple, hibiscus, blackberry leaves, lemon peals and cinnamon - Very tasty, I must say... Should try to find some around here...when we run out..!!

Yes Thomas lots of lovely teas out there. In fact I can show any coffee drinker the error of their ways. Once you have a lovely cup of Tetley with a chocolate digestive there is no going back.
We have our celebrity jungle on at the moment and Ashley from the pussycat dolls(I like her) won a plate of chocolate digestives, she'd never heard of them, but absolutely loved them. Just thought I'd share that. |
