I know there is an easy way to change the straps on the VC Overseas, but is there an easy way to DIY change the link size?

I just got the 5500 Black Panda and need to shorten it?

Its a beaut!

Thanks

Shorten the bracelet? There's a screw head on one side of the link. Unscrew and gently retract. The pin is a pin + screw assembly.

And of course since you can, remove the watch head first so you're only working with the bracelet.

Happy to join the club! I was able to buy a silver Dual Time from a friend in very good condition. Great watch and loving it so far!

They have the best blue in the watch industry. I say they’re coming up and hitting AP PP numbers soon.

Do you guys find the overseas a mass produced watch like Rolex and so on? And if yes why and no why?

Definitely a NO. Total production for Vacheron timepieces per year < 25,000 or less.

Does the average rolex owner know what a minute repeater is?

Official vacheron overseas thread!!

I find this very interesting. Because they only make 25k pieces or less so you define it not mass produce?

Keep in mind they have a LARGE portfolio. They don't just make Royal oak and a couple strap watches. They are mostly strap watches and make few sport watches. Nobody will ever know the breakdown but they don't make 25,000 overseas models.

Have you seen a vacheron and the work that goes into making / finishing by hand?

It is the opposite of mass producing.

VC and Rolex should never been compared.

My friend have good connection with some boutiques and was told that they only get one blue three hands each moth. I don’t know how the supply and demand are.

In Vegas it's a handful each year so far. If Rolex had a Geneve seal for their finishing it would be a treat. Side by side even just looking at hour markers, the bracelet, the clasp on its own the VC is so far ahead. That's not even flipping it over and considering the movement inside. Rolex makes a fine product but it isn't in the same league as the Overseas.

For sure when it arrives I will let you know! You also please! How long for you eta?
Thats very true, Im not going to be a frequent VC buyer though. This was my early 40y gift, I was thinking something like what you ordered as my grail watch closer to my 50s :)

6 months they said, so early Christmas gift I hope.

Same question to you, since Im waiting for mine. Did you go for any cool strap colors? Im considering if I should add a grey, white, orange or red rubber strap. Or perhaps even switch my black strap for a grey one.

What are peoples favourite VC model lines/models other than the overseas? The malte tourbillon skeleton (30135/000P-9842) is just crazy!

I’d to pair my (eventual) Overseas with a rose gold 1921. That’d be a killer combo.

Yes - i've actually dismantled/rebuilt the calibre 4400AS with a VC watchmaker. They use it in quite a few models actually - but agree, a very nice piece but the manual wind some may find frustrating.
