It was so long ago.anyways, a short trivia..Webb played for the YCO Painters in the Manila Industrial and Commercial Athletic Association. He also appeared at the 1972 Summer Olympics as a member of the country's national basketball team. Webb later coached Tanduay and Shell in the Philippine Basketball Association. He was later elected to serve in the Senate of the Philippines in a period of 1992–1998. And here's one of his movies..his with Mr. Robert "Big J" Jaworski. anyone remembers it? |

Both for me. If dondon didn't have that problems with his knee, Anejo could have won more titles.

Speaking of PO. I heard a joke not before and it goes like this.
Isang batabg dalaga umiwi sa probinsiya nila as balik bayan after 10 years in US. |

Joey and Chito Loyzaga
I will give some of my thoughts about the 2 superstar brothers. Chito Loyzaga - may be known as the most loyal Jaworski partner through the years next to Arnaiz. There were three elements in Loyzaga's game that was best remembered - his defense against the opponent's big men, his long-tom bombs from the 3 point arc and his barreling drive not unlike that of Jaworski. Two-time MVP Benjie Paras once said in an interview that Loyzaga was the best defensive player ever to guard against him. I will dare assume as well that North Korea's 7'7 center Ri would say the same thing as Loyzaga (from the 1990 Asian Games) knew what to do when it comes to defending players inside the paint. Loyzaga was also blessed with a deadshot from the outside. What made him stood out is not just his ability to shoot from the arc, but doing this in extreme pressure with time winding down. A reliable player, he was never amiss in the last few minutes of the game as Jaworski saw the need for a stabilizing factor that Loyzaga personified. while... Joey Loyzaga - the younger of the Loyzaga siblings, Joey was known more for his offense and his uncanny accuracy from the arc. Joey's popularity as a player reached its peak in 1988 when he was the driving offensive force of Ginebra, averaging close to 20 points per game, including an explosive 27 point performance against Purefoods in their OT Game 4 game in the 1988 AFC Finals. Loyzaga, as it has been for most of Jaworski's wards, was an excellent passer himself. In the same 1988 AFC, he dished off a nifty pass to teammate Romy Mamaril with time down to 5 seconds remaining as he drew the defense of Abet Guidaben and Yves Dignadice to free Mamaril inside where he fed him off, securing a two point win in the process. This victory at sudden death paved the way for Añejo to barge into the finals against Purefoods. You may see the 2 pictures of Chito Loyzaga below. And guess the person beside Chito who is one of the great male singer ever lived here in Phils. I will give you a hint...kung tayo'y matanda na..sana'y di tayo mag-bago! |
