It shouldn’t be a problem when exporting goods out of the European Union. Much more time consuming when importing into the EU.

The Easter time may be of some cause here.

I import every week.

if they've done the watch worksheet properly, and even if non croco strap (no CITES) it can still take a week or two while Uncle Sam assesses your duty charges.

They should charge you $1.75 for the movement, 4.2% of the value of the case, and 9.8% value of the strap (That's for a steel automatic)

Rough estimate is 3% of the value of the watch.

Congrats!
Fantastic watch and dial. And I would say also that it is quite a good deal within Antarctique three hands choices: I still do not understand how comes that the list price of Monochrome White was approx 2k lower than the other Drake versions
(at the time of Monochrome release, it was 17.200€ + VAT on the subscription site, while in the same time the Drake versions were at 19.500 CHF + VAT from Czapek site). And the Monochrome was the first to host the bracelet micro adj!
My assumption (no more than this), is that the prod cost of Drake dials may result higher than the other versions, such as Adelie or Monochrome (the flinqué stairway to eternity finishing, the embossed logo, ...).

The communication from Czapek and Monochrome (and Mike) has been excellent! Seems the USA's 'closed-loop news business agencies' aren't reporting on the strikes in Belgium, which is causing weeks of delays for the shipper.

Ah well.

Now it's a 'contest' to see if the M.A.D.1 Red arrives before the Czapek Monochrome White.

So I got the vernier calipers out today to take a look…. The best I can get is 11.4mm at the centre of the crystal. I know it doesn’t sound like much of a difference but it does feel noticeably thicker than my other watches (Lange 1, Cartier santos, etc). I’m not complaining, it’s just an observation!

That's so weird. I have a Lange 1 and the Antarctique feels WAY slimmer.

Thanks for the empirical proof!
That’s interesting: 11.4 mm in real life, including crystal, means that without crystal the watch should be thinner than 10.6 mm (being the crystal thickness, visually, more than 1 mm).
So… I am wondering where Czapek picked this 10.6 mm that does not match nether with case+crystal thickness nor with only case thickness but that is explicitly highlighted in every official section.

Who else has an order in for the standard size Antarctique salmon dial?

I put my order in in November for an original estimate of April-June delivery. I'd be amazing if it arrived before the end of the summer though.

I ordered the Glacier Blue at the end of December and was quoted June-August estimated delivery from my AD. Last I spoke to them (a week ago) they said that Jan 2023 would be more realistic. So my order seems to be delayed 4-6 months which is a little bit concerning since it has only been 4 month since I ordered. This is just one data point and your situation could be very different.

Interesting. I ordered the Glacier Blue at the end of Dec as well (ok, I am greedy). To be honest, I am not in any rush, I have a few watches coming in the next month, so spreading the cost and arrival dates out a bit isn't an issue.

That’s so weird indeed. Really curious how they measured it and what they measured. But the crystal does look thick on the side views.

Thanks for making that great shot! It looks so thin on your wrist. Not even close to 11mm even.

I have another size question, how wide is the bracelet at the clasp? Is it 18mm or larger?

I have a 40mm Salmon on order as well - last I heard was that July was the expected arrival

Imagine getting your watch after a very long wait. The build up process to that moment is amazing as well isn't it? Just buy yourself some appetizers along the way!

Thinking out loud, hopefully they're also building their support / service teams to scale as more of these pieces enter the wild. If they are having a tough time resourcing ADs with a display only piece in an effort to ensure timely delivery for those who have ordered, then it'll be interesting to see the post sales experience in a break-fix scenario.

Then again, the ETA for service on my Lange is currently 4-6 months so perhaps I'm overthinking this.

Thanks Mike! That’s a lot of taper. I’m really curious if the S version will have 17mm or 16mm. The latter might be a bit small.
