Real rednecks keep an old washing machine. Fill the tub with beer and ice. No electricity required.

There's one for sale there?

We had an old toilet sitting out for a few days last week. Dave was convinced someone would come along and take it - what a treasure! After a while I convinced him it needed to go back behind the house until big trash day.

No, but he'd be sharing a back fence with that. I wasn't going to say anything unless I had to.

Put a 'For Sale' sign on it. Someone will steal it and think they got away with something.

Wish we'd thought of that. The "Free Vintage Toilet - Works" paper taped to it failed to impress.

They reduced it to just under $1,000,000. Should be perfect for a single guy!

Can't figure out which one that is. Is it the gray-painted rock house on the NW corner? That's been on and off the market for a long time. Only a couple of years ago it was listed for $600-something.

Perspective:

More square footage than my entire yard.
More bathrooms than all my closest neighbors combined.

Thomas, that dang toilet is so heavy I don't want to have to move it again - maybe you're on to something.

Bill and Kevin, that house is a behemoth. County records show the owner bought it for $470K in 2007, but I remember the house being up for sale about a year later (it's only a couple blocks away from us). Then, they took it off the market and added a large two-story wing in the back at the same time the pool was put in - that was about 2009. I figured they had decided to stay put and add on, but then it went back on the market again, new and improved, with a much bigger price tag.

I don't know the story behind all that, but they've sure sunk a lot of money into that place. Looking at the pics, it looks like a new house through and through. I don't know why people do that to old houses - it loses a lot of character in my opinion. If you want a new house, why not build one?

Just some pics for you Lisa, as you were asking about the clasp. Has a similar release mechanism to the super jubilee.

Ha, I still spy a sticker on the back.

Ah, good pictures, Wes. Thanks. I had not seen the new clasp on the oyster bracelets. It looks quite substantial. Yes, fewer micro adjustment holes. Is she happy with the fit?

Yes has a quality feel to the bracelet. She said she forgot she was wearing it today, so guess the fit is good. Amazing that there is still 4 links that can come out (3 one side, think 1 the other)

I think 7 years ago we almost bought that house right between kitty's ears.

The girls have cabin fever so I took them to the mall to spend some of their Christmas money. Now I have anxiety because it was so flipping crowded...

There is one at the mall, but I didn't go in today. Often I do, to say hi to my cousin who works there. I was just in before Christmas to spend the $100 gift certificate they sent me. It's fun to be thought of as a good customer. I bought a set of Marquis by Waterford wine glasses with it.

I know the stuff, blue box. I like Waterford and have some but not a whole lot. Maybe 5 pieces. They started making it in Poland, that bothers me. Not saying Poles aren't skilled in glass making. It's just that it should be made in Ireland, IMO. Wife has acquired quite a bit of LLadro stuff. I don't care much for it but she does.

Update on the Ball Watch situation. Two weeks ago I sent a query through the Ball website about the Lady Conductor, and what dial options were available, and whether the particular watch I wanted existed. The dial/bracelet combo I wanted was pictured, except that it had diamonds on the bezel, which I don't particularly care for. (Our AD had told me this was the only option currently available.) I asked the Ball people if that particular watch was available without the diamond bezel. Well, today I received a very polite reply from them:

"Dear Mrs. A,

We are delighted to announce we shall produce the lady Conductor watch you like.
The model numbers are :

NL 1068-L3AJ-PK - Strap
NL 1068-S3AJ-PK - Bracelet

It will become available around mid Jan.

Hereby, we wish you a Happy New Year.

God be with your family,

Henry"

I agree - I have a few pieces of the Ireland-made crystal that were wedding gifts, but sort of lost interest in the newer pieces. But in this case, I needed a set of matching wine glasses and I had only until the end of the year to spend this money, so instead of buying a $15 set at Target I decided to get something a little nicer and only cost me the gas it took to drive over.

That is really cool. You will have a one of a kind. It's nice to see a watch company come through like that. Congrats. Can't wait to see pics. Or see it in person.

It's nice to drink out of quality glass wear. I have one Waterford for that and I do use it. Why not. Many people don't. I also do have a nice double glass for rum and coke that was made in Poland. The bottom is thick and heavy. I like that in a glass.

I'm not sure, Karis. I wish the AD had some Lady Conductors in stock so I could try one on... I'd feel kind of guilty if they went to all this trouble and then I didn't like the watch in person. Did I already post any pictures of the actual watch I want? Anyway, it's this pink MOP dial and steel bracelet. Just imagine it without the diamond bezel.

It's about 28 by 38mm. I even cut out a tracing of the image in the brochure (they were 100 percent size) and wrapped it around my wrist. It doesn't look too small at all. There are only a couple of wrist shots of the lady conductor out there - from other forums. I wish I knew someone who owns one.
