Still with the oh-so-juicy M800. Writing with this pen is like skating on freshly-Zambonied ice.

Just got two basic fountain pens. My son saw a fountain pen and wanted to try them out. He is 13yo so nothing too fancy.
Any suggestions on other starter pens... I bought a Lamy Safari Fine nib - $26 and a Ohto Tasche fine nib - $15. I like them both, however the Lamy writes almost like a medium nib tip. I wonder which one will my son pick. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Today's pen is a Sheaffer school pen. Bright red. Converted to an eyedropper pen.

Lamy Safari is an excellent FP ![]() I believe quite a few members of the TRF/Pen Forum has Lamy Safari (I have one too). The tipping sizes on nib differ from company to company, and even from country to country. Other good starter FP will be Pelikan 200 series. It will give you traditional Pelikan FP look and performance for <$100. ![]()

I'm using both the Pelikan M800 (Herbin Bleu Nuit) and the Omas Arco (Aurora Black) today. It's interesting to contrast the two pens. Totally different feel and nib experience. Both excellent in their own ways.

Today I am using a pink Cross Century pen with a pink Swarovski crystal on the clip. This way I don't have to worry about one of you guys absconding with it! (The trusty MB BP is in my handbag.)

I'm using a MB 149 75th LE with J. Herbin Eclat de Saphir ink, before it's sent off for a nib change.

Today I am using my Montblanc Rollerball with fine black refill. I also (as usual) brought a few inexpensive pens.

Richard, those are fun notes as you have a U.S.colonial, confederacy, State Banknote and an early silver Certificate. As for the Canadian bill I'm not to certain about it's age!!!
