Do you still have all 16 Rolex pieces? If so the services must cost an arm and a leg :) Totally agree with your assessment of the no date Sub-C though, dial just looks so clean minus the cyclops... Definitely plan to add one to the collection at some point, but the no date has to get in line behind the Batman haha!

Excellent review. The sub no date is on my wish list, but probable won't be with the ceramic bezel unless I find one at a great price.

Same journey for me, 14060 tritium was my first Rolex, which i changed for a subc to get a more functionnal watch (chromalight at first).
No regrets as i keep a 16710 with black bezel for 5 digits nostalgy...

Since this thread was unburied, I also had not noticed the review. Very interesting.
I think it puts a lot of emphasis on the "mass produced" aspect tho, and gives the impression that the Sub C is totally made by automatic processes and machinery.

That does not seem to be the case. Rolex uses machines and automation for a lot of it (no other way to get accuracy and fine tolerances, as well as consistency) but a lot of it is requires hand work by humans. Applying dials, etc.

I purchased the 114060 for my 50th birthday last month to go with my GMT Master. I absolutely love it, it oozes quality and having been unsure which Submariner to go for I am glad I went with the Submariner rather than the Submariner date.

If you had to choose one tool watch imho it would be the non date sub. The wife wears one .

Only just seen this great review, wish I had seen it earlier I would of purchased one earlier, as it is I’ve only had one for 2 months now, it sits proudly alongside my GMT 2c and I share wrist time between them both.
I can’t think of any other watches that need to be in my collection now, as I have both of my boy hood dream pieces.

I stopped in to look at the 114060 at an AD while wearing my 14060m and made a trade in deal two days later and glad I didn't wait any longer or I would have missed out due to the low inventory. I'm in love with the newer model and never looked back, this one's a keeper for sure. Great and enjoyable review!!
