Just be happy you are getting a separate room from the kids. That's a really good sign!

I'm with you, even though my wife bought me my Sub when we got engaged she still thinks it's ridiculous to spend so much money on a watch (or watches). She loves the fact I love them but that's about it, she just shakes her head when she catches me admiring my wrist candy, for me it never gets old

Another reason to buy preowned for me. This way I can always say "what? This old thing? no honey it's not new".

My wife helped me buy 3 new Rolex watches and the Pelagos and Black Bay last year. She knows all my Rolex and Tudor watches. Money will be a little tighter with a new baby coming in the next few weeks, but she hopes I can get something new / nice this year. She really is the best.

When my wife asks "is that a new watch"? I always say "I've had this one for awhile" even though it's only been a day or two. Or maybe even an hour. That's about as far as the conversation goes. She knows something is up.

That is so sad. I would be so gutted if my DH didn't call or text me for 10 days whilst away! :( I can barely handle it when one of us is away for 2 days!

Expensive Pawn or inexpensive Porn.......

My wife is happier JUST if I surf TRF vs something lest tasteful, even if the incomings are more $$$$$. That said she is a member on here so she could always slap me if I play up too much........

My wife refers to TRF as my "Watch Porn Site".

The comment usually comes out like: "Are you doing something productive? Or just looking at your watch porn?"

"Are you going to wear THAT every day?" *Points to the Rolex on my wrist*

"I payed for it, so of course I am."

"Ok, as long as you get me one in gold."

This hobby gets more expensive by the day....

My wife hates hearing about watches... and cars. She also said she'll kill me if I buy another before we buy a house. I can't really argue with that.

It will be easier for her to keep the house in a divorce!

In my defence, we are not legally able to buy a house in Switzerland... since we're just pesky foreigners ;-)

I'll settle for my AMG while I wait for my house AMD grail though... if I must!

And also, a preowned Rolex holds it's value, I can sell it if we move to a more expensive area than expected and we need some extra dosh for a down payment. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!!!

I notice my wife every so often look at my wrist to see if I'm wearing a new watch. As soon as she sees a new one her first question is "so you sold off another watch to buy that one....RIGHT?"

Soooo.. how much do horses really cost? How many Rolex equivalents?

A trusted seller should pony up a few pre-owned horses - he'd make a fortune from Mrs. Couture.

I go to Europe and import them and show them and then sell them in the states. The last one I sold sold for two platinum daytonas (after a month) and I paid the equivalent of a Sky Dweller for him and $10k to ship him to the states. Not a bad ROI ;)

You know you travel a lot when I call home after four days on the road and she doesn't ask "when are you coming home?", rather she says "when did you leave?"

My wife knows my watches, she's knows everything I know about them because she helps me when I'm stuck between two watches when I'm looking to buy... So I tell her all the factors I like and dislike even when it comes to history of the model. I don't know if she still remembers the history until now, but she knows which is which and she likes my explorer I the best.
