The sub will take beating and will feel like a million bucks on the wrist. Swing a Nine iron and and hit a clump of grass and the PP my need a 2k service.

Ask an owner of a Nautilus and then decide. Conjecture is cheap, but a real owner's experience is priceless.

I voted for the smurf before I read you have a beater as well. I think the smurf has unlimited versatility the Nautilus merely a lot of versatility. No loser in this battle current poll reflects that. Probably the closest ever that has got to over 150 in each side.

I think this is debatable; Guys currently owning or previously owned the 5711 or 5712 can better tell us.
Not as robust as the Sub probably, however still not as fragile as you make it sound.

I've played golf with mine (by accident not realizing I was still wearing it). No issues to date.

PP 5164 is my golf watch. I swing easier and more accurately knowing I have a Patek on my wrist :-)

Aesthetically, both are amazing. The Patek gives you a comfortable lightweight feeling. PM Rolex is just amazing.

But is the movement in the Patek really superior? If so, by much?

Impressive how close the poll is.

I still prefer the 5711 and my sub in steel

5711 if I worked in an office (and I don't) or if retired. Sub anywhere else.

Yes, really impressive, kudos to TRF.

I probably voted for the Sub but maybe now would go for the Nautilus... only I quite like that in PM now as well.

One thing that I have not seen mentioned here: Are you willing to part with your watch for 8 months at a time when it needs service, as is the case with Patek?

I think that the service time is a great advantage for Rolex and AP vs almost any other high-end watch, at least in the good ol' U.S. of A.

Personally, the Rolex looks nicer on your wrist in my opinion. Just my 2 cents.

Is it an indicia of their quality of work?

I am really tossing up between the 2. Is the Patek movement really that much better?

Tough choice

I would get 5711 and a SS model rolex or even a blue pelagos
