My vote for the blue. I think it’s one of, if not the coolest dials that Rolex makes.

With my Explorer II it was a coin toss between the black and the Polar; on the other hand, the DSSD Blue was a total no brainer. Even from ten feet away.

Black FTW. Classic style. IMO I feel it looks more “serious”.

Not sure if its worth it, that's purely subjective. My preference is the Black. more classic look.

If you’re going DSSD you gotta go blue in my opinion.

Didnt have much of a preference between both. Went with the Black as i could get it off the shelf at my local AD. Fantastic watch either way and you can't go wrong with them.
Also, bought it on my son's birthday and will probably pass it down to him when I'm gone. Wouldn't want his watch named after somebody else if i got the blue

Blue!!
If it was your only watch then Black. But who has a DSSD as their only watch. I love the blue and think it’s makes the watch stand out from the crowd. |

I’ve had both standard and the JC and the blue wins IMO, it’s down to personal choice. Buy the one you want not what we think.

Go BLUE. The dial is worth it. BLNR half bezel may not be, but that dial is something else.

I've never seen a Deepsea in blue dial. It should be more precise once I have a chance wear it on my wrist. But I'd love a black dial.

I have owned my black dial DSSD for just about ten years now and I’d have to rank it as my all time favorite. I have seen the Deep Blue and like it very much, but can’t see flipping my black dial right now. It is growing on me and I may change my mind but I still believe black is best for the long term.

DBlue without a doubt. If you want black I would look at the SD43.

The DSSD didn't matter to me at all before the Blue version came out. That dial makes the watch for me.
The premium for the blue does suck but as far as I'm concerned the black model doesn't even exist. The blue makes an already unique piece that much more unique. |

Understandably, folks will not likely vote against a prior ca. $12,000 expenditure.

It is! I think that once the 126660 won’t be produced anymore ( 10 years from now) this watch will be very thought after. It is just so special in the Rolex line up. As far as I know this is the only model ever that they did for one person or their achievement. Correct me if I am wrong. I am so glad tough I have the oldschool ugly first model ;)
