But it seems to me any statement - much less a question posed by an OP - on most any thread will get Member agreement, disagreement, and/or someone taking issue with basic assumptions - real or implied. Just the nature of expressing yourself. Otherwise, every thread would simply having OP responses agreed to or declarations of "Congratulations" |

Interesting feedback. I probably should have used the term price reduction instead of discount. The NATO seems to work better for my line of work (forestry). It can hang from the front of my field coat or be be worn over the sleeve if necessary. Bezel is sometimes used to approximate fire retardent drops.
To the poster who 'LOL-ed' the 'freebies', perhaps it offsets a small portion of any perceived overpayment on my part. Lift tickets to Vail are expensive on my salary & while I wouldn't use a 2-fer restaurant discount on a first date, it's OK when you are married. |

It's hilarious to me how the newer bracelets are causing people to think they make some kind of philosophical difference, or they're that important to the watch. As I mentioned earlier, skipping the bracelet used to be an official option with a Sub. |

I'm just going to go ahead and say it - and make no mistake, this is aimed at way more than one member. Had the guy posted some banal comment and gratuitous car/luxury good shot, people would be lavishing praise on him. The guy got what he wanted and decided to share because he was probably pretty excited. Instead, this "community" goes hostile and makes the guy feel like s**t about his purchase. I've also seen this same aggressive BS on threads where members were trying to share information (my least favorite tactic is calling anyone not in TRF agreement a troll - hint, that word doesn't mean what you think it does). This type of behavior is part of the reason Rolex is tagged with a douchey stigma. I'm also unsure why the mods are not shutting this behavior down and trying to set a better tone.

Congrats!
That's a good way to lower the price, but you didn't get a discount. |

Nope. How about opening a discussion and offering advice on different straps he might like, the history of wearing Subs without bracelets, etc? Plenty of other stuff to discuss.

In a way there is - the bracelet is engraved with date-code.

Not the way I would've done it. Get a slight discount and then turn around and sell the bracelet on the TRF. Then throw a Rubber B on it and you're good to go.
In any case, as long as you're happy that's all it matters. Cheers!

Good for you. If you don't need the bracelet, you did the right thing. All these guys talking about $2K Glidelock wouldn't buy it from you for $2k anyway.
