The previous owner or the dealer just mounted the wrong ends of the bracelet to the watch, not a big deal to fix. Since I wanted to check the serial number I had to diconnect the ends anyway... The source was a very reputable dealer in Heibronn, Germany, Mr. Grimmeissen. The watch is pre owned of course from the year 2001. Everything is original. I was hunting for quite a while to find this understated 118209 with the hidden clasp oyster bracelet. Mostly you find the president version...

Congrats! I applaud you for taking the bold leap into being a 1-watch guy. I have a small collection and they have too much sentimental value that I'm afraid I'll regret downsizing...

Love the hidden clasp oyster bracelets, so hard to find (relatively speaking)!

I just couldn't do it. Downsize, that is. Figure my kids can figure out what stays and goes once I've gone. I've never really considered myself a packrat (my wife would probably disagree), and there's plenty of stuff that comes and goes. But I collect a few things - watches, knives, guns, etc. And it's rare that I'll sell/trade/flip. Just can't bring myself to do it and always regret it after the fact.

Schro - how are things as a one watch man working out for you? I'm actually considering a similar move (in fact for the same model as you but with a black dial) but am also hesitating about giving up my humble three-watch collection. I'll also probably have to pay quite a significant amount to make up the value. Appreciate any thoughts/advice!

And dumb question time...first, though, I've really enjoyed this thread. Thanks for sharing the journey with us!

Your watch is stunning. Is it WG with stainless case? All WG (case and bracelet)? PL with stainless bracelet? You may have mentioned it. I read the entire thread so it's on me if I missed that.

I'm guessing it's the fantastic Air King 116900. The sexiest watch on the planet and the only watch you will ever need!?

The more I see that watch, I wonder if I could get away with 36".
What a beauty!

Have a similar plan. Planning to be a one watch guy (YG DD) when i turn 65.

But instead of selling my collection, will bequeath the stash to my two sons.
