too much gain or loss from starting position and not enough time gap during the race. Miss the old team with thoughtful analysis instead of goofy jokes.

The NBCSN crew were in their studio watching the world feed while commentating on the race. I'm sure ESPN could reach out to some folks to do the same thing. Then to cut away from any after race analysis?!?!?! Awful, just awful coverage.

Enjoyed the race but Martin Brundle is a human Sominex. Race coverage and presentation were horrid.

In Australia we got Mark Webber, so it couldn't have been better. Intelligent interpretation of what was going on and some humor as well.

We get the euro feed with Sky. They had the regulars, Brundle, Herbert, Paul Di Resta and this year they added for both pre race and post race Nico Rosberg. Pretty cool.

The Official Formula One Thread!
I actually preferred this US broadcast. Less blather and drama betwixt commentators. Also no sponsor contract mandated on-air plugs. Put me in the minority column.
Why? I watch hundreds of races via live web streams and T&S. I can figure out who is doing what on track and why. This was like those races where I must watch the intervals and then figure out where the “races within the race” are going on. The only time I needed informed commentary was when Vettel did pit stop under VSC. But the talk was a misstatement of FIA 40.6 - so they were pretty useless. I had to pull it up myself to see why Ferrari did it and why Lewis was livid. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Was a bit of a snoozefest and Hamilton got robbed of an almost certain victory. Why there was a VSC and not a SC was beyond me. There was no way the marshals were going to get that HAAS out of there without a SC and why Grosjean stopped his car there is also beyond me.

I wasn't terribly happy with the ESPN coverage. I like the race feed but missing the restart really bugged me. I had hoped for just some race time but the announcers wouldn't stop talking. It was almost like they were radio football announcers. I like the new Sky feed though. The graphics were well laid out and I thought they were better than the NBC graphics. My wife was not at all thrilled with the new announcers though. This season may be rough unless they fix some of these issues.

I’m hoping for better coverage in Bahrain this weekend!
I’ll give the ESPN announcers the benefit of the doubt for a few races.

Thinking the same thing. Good race today with a little excitement at the finish. TR was on their game for sure. I was hoping for more from HAAS though after Australia. The coverage still needs some work. It took forever to find out what happened to Ricciardi. I thought Max had to pull over when we saw the RB car off the track, and then he drove by with the flat. One things for sure though, Kimi’s pit guy’s got a nasty tib fib fracture. That pit was a disaster. Not his fault of course, but I’d still feel pretty bad. Interesting speculation that the computer gave the green light as all 4 tires were secure, even though one never made it off. I’m not sure why they dropped the car.

Max really needs to mature as a driver. He keeps on trying to win the race on lap 1. Vettel took his time in the first race and won while Hamilton stayed out of the ruckus on lap 1 and managed to podium. If Max is ever going to win a WDC, he needs to drive smarter. |

I’ll add that I don’t like the over the drivers head angle shot anymore. You don’t see the front of the car, it’s blockwd by the huge halo. It takes away from the feeling of being “on the track” watching.
Classic Kimi today by the way. They don’t call him The Ice Man for nothing.

I won’t spoil the Qualifying results for those planning to watch it later, but I think the 1st 30 seconds tomorrow in China are going to be more interesting than usual.

I’ll just say this. Mercedes and especially Lewis looked awful in FP3. This is shaping up to be #5 for Vettel and I’ll be shocked if Ferrari and Vettel don’t both win the title this year.

Well I’ve had an eventful day...
My 2 year old Sebastian has been a little out of sorts this morning so we were cuddled up on the couch watching qualifying together. Got to Q2 and he had a seizure in my arms. VERY frightening experience, ambulance called and an afternoon in A&E. He’s all ok now thankfully and sleeping like a baby No idea of the result. All adrenaline has left my body and struggling to keep my eyes open. Might get to catch the race tomorrow.... Sent from my iPhone |

Im just getting caught up... Missed the 1st 2 races when they occured, so I watched them earlier today on the pc.
Interesting so far... Vettle and Ferrari.. 2 for 2 so far but the season is so young. Rough go for Hamilton but Bottas did a great job in the last race..and kudos to Torro Rosso... Should be an interesting season, imo... We'll see....

Looking forward to a more interesting season where at least three teams are competitive.
One clearly superior team makes for a boring season.

Paul di Resta wearing Daytona during qualifying yesterday. On race day he seems wearing a different one. I maybe wrong though.

Mad Max strikes again. This time twice! 3 races this season and 3 times his over aggressiveness has cost him dearly.

Ricciardo won because of a safety car...oh well I guess that's what they now call 'race strategy'.
