I prefer 36mm-38mm.

I wouldn't own a 40+mm watch if Dad hadn't bought it in the PX in Vietnam.

Period.

Rolex just perfect in 40mm. Don't try to make more bigger Rolex. 40mm is perfect for Rolex.

A 36mm Datejust is a classic size and works very well for business. It is sometimes convenient depending upon the business situation that a Datejust slips up the sleeve. It is not always optimal in certain discussions to advertise several thousand dollars on your wrist. Management compensation can be a sticky issue depending upon the level of employee or customer you may be dealing with at times. Larger watches may attract unwanted attention. Just a thought.

While some of us with very large wrists may find the 40 mm small, I think it's now become a kinda UNIVERSAL size - one that will suit almost any wrist!!

For me, the 40 mm is perfect, although I have been able to carry off the OMEGA PO 45.5 mm without any problems.

Why dont you just wear the bloody things and stop worrying about the size, the movement, which colour bleedin bracelet what goes with what tie, how many you have, whose is newer, bigger better..............................
These are fantastic watches and we are some of the most privelaged people in the world who can afford to own one. I just watched a program about a place in china where they are pulling apart dumped computers to salvage the parts. Half of them werent wearing shoes let alone owning a watch.
Shake it down to one solitary fact...we are damned lucky to be in a position to even own one. Be content and raise a glass with me \_/ all hail the crown :)

I agree...then again, if we ALL truly embraced the post to its fullest, there wouldn't be a forum like this as nobody would have anything to discuss...other than the fact that we're all so lucky & happy to own watches. That might get a tad boring IMO.

True, but dont you get bored of the same old questions and answers. Nothing changes it just gets dressed up in different formats. If I have seen one sub I have seen a thousand. They all look the same for crying out loud.

Dont get me totally wrong, there has been some develish good advice dished out on here and some mighty fine banter...even heated discussions. That part of it is great...but come on....how many times have you been asked to show your watch on your wrist whilst standing on one leg counting apples at three oclock on a friday afternoon????
Rolex make, in my opinion, and it is my opinion, Some of the best watches to ever grace this planet. They do not make an infinite range. They have just lately started to diversify, which is good in some ways , bad in others. There are better watches, there are worse watches. But the fact remains we are all here cos we like/love./admire them......not because they are life changing or will make us an instant success with women.
The standard size for rolex sports watches has been 40mm for a long long time. Lets hope they stay that way. Tradition man......thats what I am trying to say...lets keep somethings safe from change and appreciate them for what they are not what they could be.......

I think 40MM is great. I still enjoy wearing my SD, Daytona, and LV. However, I also like wearing my 44MMs and 47MMs.

Absolutely...but I think that's the nature of a watch forum (especially one like TRF where the maker doesn't necessarily have a ton of different watches). Because of that nature, I have found that threads on a forum like this usually don't run very long (as opposed to car forums where a topic can be discussed for months & months on end without getting stale). It's a lot easier for someone to do a mod on a car and have debates about the part vs. performance with pictures and how to install, ect. that can go on & on with a ton of great info...that just isn't the case with a watch forum.

But, that's the neat thing about these forums IMO...if someone really gets bored, then nobody is stopping them from moving on. I've been tempted many times with this thread to hit the 'Unsubscribe' button as I believe it's run it's course & really this topic is going to come down to the simple fact that people are different and prefer different things. No right or wrong answer to this topic, just different. Why do I keep reading? I don't really know, but I do (and trust me, many times I wish I didn't...talk about the amount of hours I've wasted). Cheers.

We're all different ... with different needs... and opinions of what is too big or too small... ask those guys:

One of the things I like about Rolex is their (failing? futile?) attempt to not jump on the huge watch bandwagon. Being in IT, a huge watch simply will not work on me. Server racks can wreak havoc on a bigger watch. So something 38-40mm that isn't too thick suits me just fine.

Oh, and hello, first post here! :D

I like the 40mm for me.....My wife has a 28mm and it is truely a ladies size and it looks good but...she has worn my tendency to wear my watches.....and they look good also. I dont know...a matter of what looks good and what doesnt. Depends on the size of the woman I guess??
