Totally agree. The cognitive dissonance displayed by some members here is nothing short of incredible.

OP you did great. Ignore the haters, enjoy your watches and thanks for sharing your story.

i see no problem with this approach -- the market is overpaying for something, so your should take action if you can and pocket some of that money.

No different to being a grey, remember they started out as collectors. Don't blame the OP for being smart.

Not bad turn around - I would have at least tried to sell it private for a week to cushion the margins even more.

Grats!

Not sure I agree but you have a good point.

AD's invented the bundle game with the grey market buyers years ago. Many here on TRF benefited from the practice with discounted Subs and GMTs and DJs and PM models. Then AD's decided to play the bundle game with their civilian buyers. People didn't like that game. This turned some civilian buyers into amateur flippers. But still no one complained when the amateur flipper was selling a PM. But turn the bundle game around and suddenly there is some violation of 'morality?' Many people sell their watches for whatever the market will support. Is the seller of the Paul Newman Daytona immoral for selling a $250 watch for $15M? The ultimate watch flip of all time. If this were the old days and folks were bragging about getting their Sub at a 15% discount from a Trusted Seller everyone would cheer on the acquisition. Many people played the game on TRF when it was to their advantage, suddenly they don't like it.

The OP was inventive in his strategy to get a watch for his wife. The AD agreed to the terms because it benefited them. The OP agreed to the terms because it benefited him. I don't get the problem.

We all know how the game works and people can do whatever they like. Posts like this are always going to ruffle a few feathers but the OP seems to be able to handle the negativity. I’m just here for the entertainment (popcorn at the ready).

Don’t understand those upset at OP.
He didn’t create the game.
If people would stop paying ridiculous grey prices, the demand would drop and OP would not be able to do what he did.
If I were in OP’s shoes, I would do the same.
