Farm fresh eggs. I live in the city so I have to pay a premium for them. Can never go back to grocery store eggs.

Pretty much what I do for most things. Heck I even do this with socks. Darn Tough makes the best casual socks I've ever worn and they last forever. Well, truth be known not forever but for a very long time and they are guaranteed for life. My first set lasted four years of daily washing and wear and the guarantee for life makes the higher initial cost more attractive over time.

I detest cheap and I detest disposable plastic. By once cry once and I tend to maintain and hang onto my stuff so this goes for clothes, shoes, and most other things I buy as well. They look better, they wear better, they last longer, they feel nicer, they often work better, and I appreciate and take care of them better.

As with anything the additional cost from mid tier to higher tier goes toward the better materials, the finer details, and the better craftsmanship. For some they only require something to function for others they enjoy the better ride. I would think that this being a Rolex Forum you would already know that being there are certainly watches you could buy for less that not only function but are reliable. CJ being more than a few notches above reliable but still they are not quite as nice as some of those costing even more.
