Anyone know if the RCS in NY has reopened yet?

Not much can be done at the moment.....

Thanks again Larry
Had the same happen to my RG Daytona 116505 a few years back, picked it up from its pillow inside the case and the lower pusher just fell off.

Took it to RSC in Ormond Beach, easy fix.

Yes even a platona has WG bracelet screws.
But isn't RG also more brittle? So in theory, wouldn't the potential to snap off be the tradeoff for holding its shape better?

Daytona -pusher broke off

Happened to my IWC. They didn’t cover it, but it wasn’t very expensive to fix. I was more annoyed by the time it took. Will be interested to hear if Rolex does cover it!

Wow, just read the first page and the last page. It's funny how so many posters seem like they just can't wait to bash Rolex or Daytonas at the slightest provocation! Sometimes stuff happens. I imagine that the issue of having SS parts attached to WG parts creates the risk.

I do hope some Daytona owners can somehow overcome this traumatic realization that there is a slight risk of this occurring, and figure out a safe way to enjoy their watch. Maybe just wear it indoors on hardwood floors where there is a better chance to find the pusher when it inevitably falls out?

This is the first time I've come across this thread and it's been interesting reading the mixed feelings about it. It happened to me (PM Daytona as well) and it had almost 4 yrs of warranty remaining. Brought it to RSC. They suggested that I used it incorrectly and abused the watch. Felt irritated, but was even more pissed when they told me that they can fix it, but there would be a charge. Their claim was that the warranty only covers internals and external details aren't covered. Needless to say, I was speechless. I wasn't having any of it. I asked the receptionist to go back and speak to whoever was in charge and to reconsider their position. I left the watch and got a call a few hours later. They said they would do is as a 'one time courtesy' since this is not my first and only Rolex (I was wearing a BLNR and was having a friendly conversation with another customer about watches who was in line behind me). She said they will charge me the next time I have an 'external' issue and that they were doing me a favor. The watch was sent to overseas (really?) and came back in about 4-5 weeks.

I can't help but feel a bit vexed that Rolex would attempt to skirt any responsibility for what is obviously a manufacturing defect (esp since I realized that many people on this thread have had the same problem). Things happen, and I am ok with that, but trying to charge me to fix it while still under warranty leaves a bad taste. Companies, esp one as esteemed as Rolex should stand behind their product.

Saw this thread when it came out. This is really not acceptable for a watch of this value. Don said it wasn't bumped. It just fell off. Suppose you're out and about and you see both have fallen off somewhere. Glad it's an easy fix.

The trend seems to be that pusher falls of with a gentle touch in gentle environments. Why aren't more falling off as they're walking around or especially when using the pusher?

Are TT and SS pushers heels on with RG parts? If not, maybe that explains it. A jeweler once told me it’s the hardest metal, besides platinum, to work with because of how brittle it is.

Very common for post 2014 AP ROO 43-47mm due to usage of just glue to stick the pushers into the stem.
There’s an incident which I witnessed at service ctr where someone brought in his watch where both start & reset buttons both dropped off & were missing at same time on first day of wearing. Had to pay like $1000 to get them replaced as AP claim it’s his responsibility.
Best part, it takes 6mths to get it replaced

Is this something any local watch repair person can fix?

Sounds like my IWC story. This stuff happens (unfortunately). Just life with a chronograph.

same experience.

Brought the watch to RSC Makati last August 3 and then received a call 2 days ago. They'll be replacing both pushers (upper and lower) with new ones under warranty. :-)

It seems like screw stuff. Bummer for a Daytona to do that.

I was on a flight yesterday to sunnier climes with my WG Daytona on , half way through the flight , looked at my watch and to my horror the pusher was missing and despite a search couldn’t find it. As The watch is still under warranty will Rolex replace under warranty or will I have to buy another pusher ? And Rolex fit it

Any idea of cost etc

I would think it would depend on if their inspection shows there was some defect in the assembly somewhere which caused the failure. If it just appears to be damage by impact, I doubt they will repair under warranty. These do appear to be somewhat fragile on the PM models.

Send to NYC or walk in BH. Be sure to tell them your watch came from an AD even if you bought resale. If resale, it's your fault no matter what.

I mean, there are a LOT of Rolexes out there, and you don't know what kind of life they've lived. They have their rep for a reason.

I bought a 1601 DJ from a reputable grey dealer back in 2017 and about 3 months of owning it the crown and stem pulled out of the case. I had been planning to have it serviced anyway so off to RSC Dallas and it's been just fine every since.

Happened to my WG oysterflex Daytona , my AD fixed in 15 minutes , the only downside was they of course scratched the lugs when removing the bracelet to open the case , their excuse was you know it’s going to scratch anyway,

Classic. They treat these watches like $600 tissots

All true! But curious: what about my post inspired you to respond to it nearly 4 years later? It’s a personal record!

I've had 2 Daytona for many years, one WG and one SS. I never had an issue, so this is a bummer for me. But I love the Daytona so much I'm still going to buy another one probably next year. I'll deal with the repair if it happens, but hope it doesn't!
