White gold and blue sub is awesome but not even at the MSRP price which no mortal will be able to buy it at anyways. It will start north of $40K on the gray.

Same with the new green. I like it at MSRP but it will be double and also hard to get.

Until Rolex makes these easy to get not stop the gray game they are all just meh.

I don't know why they replaced the smurf with a blue bezel/black dial, and didn't just make it all blue with the new darker color, which I prefer.

Also, no idea why they would drop the gold lettering on the bluesy in favor of white??

As a side note, more convinced than ever Rolex is going to only use blue to sell PM watches. I don't think you'll ever see a blue SS sub.

I’ve said elsewhere, but I think they’ve done ok. I suspect the new sub won’t wear much bigger than the old and if anything will look more in proportion with the 21mm bracelet.

I love the skyD on OF - not that I’ll ever get one but the one thing I don’t like is the OP41. I don’t get it really and the colours don’t look the best, even the green which looks from photos to be really in yer face!

I agree on the WG sub. I’d like to have seen a blue dial also.

So, completely unscientific observation, but so far, it is mostly positive. 39% are above neutral and 19% below. The majority is neutral.

I am no statu- statitio- statu- I am no guy that is an expert in statistics but at this stage it looks like Rolex has a positively viewed release.

The submariner has always been perfect so theres nothing that needs to be changed.
THIS is a very smart comment!

Finally after much anticipated waiting it happened,Rolex 2020 releases. I won’t comment on the 36mm OP, but on the new Submariner. Ho Hum IMHO. What I have seen will never better the 14060M.

I like the new Sub with it's slimmer look. But I miss the variations in dial for the LV and Smurf versions that was beter before, now black dial tad boring.

Don't like the new fashion color dials and the double index on 3 and 9 o'clock on the OP. But hey it's a "cheaper" Rolex I hope they can attract some new buyers to the brand. But think it's a more fashion-move than horlogerie. I miss the nice rhodium grey and more classic colors.

Around 40k for a rubber strap gold watch (SkyD), that's just crazy. They are milking the SkyD line so bad, what's next 2021 on a Jubilee? They really need to make revenue/profit on their most complicated mouvement.

Wondering what will happen to availability and grey prices of the new Subs and now previous ones. Will they go through the roof?

Anyways not buying Rolex anymore, Tudor BB58 Navy is next.

Change is bad. Change is horrible. I will be boycotting all new models for the rest of 2020 to demonstrate my outrage.

The OP's take home best in show for me - throw back to the stella dials from back in the day.

With all the hype and opinions about the new 2020 Rolex models, it's important to highlight the biggest differences! My favorite model, the Rolex submariner, had a lot of updates in the 2020 announcement. The biggest updates to the submariner line are as follows:
1. New 41mm case diameter
2. Redesigned thinner lugs
3. Caliber 3235 (Date) or Caliber 3230 (No-Date) movements
4. Stainless steel model now with black dial/green bezel (Hulk discontinued)
5. 18k white gold model now with black dial/blue bezel (Smurf discontinued)

I have to say, I was bummed to hear about the discontinuation of the Hulk and Smurf, but I do look forward to seeing what new signature submariners are to come! The source I used for this information also had more information on the rest of the new 2020 Rolex model updates and discontinuations. I'll add the link here if anyone else wants to read more. https://www.bobswatches.com/rolex-bl...-released.html

So what do y'all think about the submariner changes? Thanks for posting this poll, I'd love to hear a consensus!

There's a lot of movement but not a lot of change, imho. There's nothing tragic introduced but really nothing to write home about either. Perhaps the discontinued products are the bigger story. Most of the changes are evolutionary as opposed to revolutionary. It's time the new calibers were used and it's only was a bit of time before they were introduced in new watches across the board. There are more to come.
