I'd find and did find a new AD. No way would I get trapped in to that or any AD games. Thankfully I found my new AD over two years ago who has been very forthright and accomidating. My first AD, a large boutique in a high end mall whom I purchased my 114060 from in Nov'17 has since practically shunned me with only a smile and a NO. Actually a blessing in disquise.

Ugh that sucks... yet another story of how an AD wants to bundle other pieces that aren't as popular with an SS sports model in order to move their inventory.

Why are people still surprised of this practice? It's not just Rolex, AP and PP use the exact same practice - they may not be as upfront about it as this AD, but by the end of a 10 minute conversation with them you will understand that yes you can walk out with the watch you want as long as you spend another $40-$50k on something you do not want or care for.

Best thing in my opinion is to either try a different AD because eventually you will get lucky, or accept once of those bundles, lose a bit of money, and still end up with the piece you want. Going grey is of course another option, personally for me this would be the last resort, I just prefer the warranty cards to have my name on them :)

ADs own the stock. If they require a certain purchase to get a certain piece, that’s their prerogative. It’s pretty common these days whether an immediate bundle, or asking for x amount of eligible purchase history.

There are so many people on this earth that will only own 1 Rolex OR 1 Omega or 1 Longines or 1 Breitling and wear that specific one watch until something happens to the watch or the person wearing it.

So a one watch Rolex buyer isn't important? I understand the importance of steady clients with a lot of money but be reasonable. But the main thing is Rolex HQ who makes it difficult for ADs. So up the chain we go.
