It all depends on what the OP paid for the watch as to whether I would put up with this.

Might it not have been better to hear back from the dealer before raising a commotion on the forum?

Frank, why did you sell him a Day Date without the full links?

I'd have had a tiny bit more respect for them if they'd just come back and said, "Sorry, yes we should've mentioned in the advert that it was short of 3 links, but as we failed to mention it we'll send you three links completely free of charge". That would've been a reasonable result for the OP, but still trying to squeeze another $400 out for what should've been there in the first place? Nah, that's just wrong.

But aside from all that, this is a really top-end, and expensive, piece and I personally would NEVER entertain this amount of messing around. Complete original set, or nothing as far as I'm concerned. IMO, return for a full refund and look for a better example (and customer experience) elsewhere.

(Oh and if it was me, I'd happily name and shame, because this is disgusting behaviour by the seller. But that's entirely up to the OP of course).
Yeah i think you nailed it. We are all in a tissy but it just doesn’t add up and OP went AWOL. We fell for it again.....

9 inches would be my reply.

Side story. I sold a white gold DD (that I bought used) to a grey and failed to note that it was two links short, and he didn’t ask. When he received it he called me on it. To which I acknowledged the mistake and offered to make good by sending him the value of the two links in cash. He declined my offer and called it good, acknowledging that he should have asked.

He removed on link, will give you another, sell you a third.

I would want all links or return the watch. If you give the seller this option, i think you will have all links.

Don't think any grey would want a platin watch back at "market price" these days. new times have arrived. Time to call any BS..

I would return immediately. I would always question why and wonder what else wasn’t disclosed.

There are other factors at play. Such as the deal you got.

So, if you're happy, that's all that counts...but I can tell you, it wouldn't sit well with me.

Resolution:

The dealer sent the additional 2 links. It was initially short one link from the advertisement. Not sure what happened there, but he stepped up and sent two. Technically, due to my not asking and doing thorough research, he only owed me one link.

He further offered an additional link to bring it to factory set up for $400 shipped. That is waaay below MSRP. I paid and got the $400 and got it the next day.

I paid $67K for the watch (box, tag, and papers included) + $400 for the additional link for the watch I discussed. I am very happy with the transaction and own my part in not counting links in the initial post. Very quick response by the seller (even on Sunday evenings) and overnight shipping.

Glad to hear it was an amicable resolution and you both took responsibility.

If you’re truly satisfied with the transaction I would not name the dealer because there are quite a few here that will probably still beat him up over not mentioning it was a full bracelet.

I deleted the dealer as not to cause drama. I appreciate the advise.
