Carl, your guitar playing skills has been made redundant by these guys. Think it's time to learn a wind instrument instead. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sc8mQyA2dw0 |

Wes, did I strike a discord with you in my last contribution to your kidding around.....as I do apologize if I made you upset(actually I do not want to lose my listening privileges to when you play a song on the piano...as I really do enjoy your choices of music to play and share with us)!!! Your watches seem to be in pretty good conditions! I'm assuming that the first picture (forgive me but it seems like your camera flash hides a part of the name) is the one of your JLC, funny how its case looks like a Rolex's! Please share more pictures with us, we all love watches around here (obviously... ). Now if we are going to post pictures...here's the rest of my collection (and some watches you've already seen).

A really nice black or brown perl could be pretty. And garnets can be quite nice, even in "normal" garnet color. And as for the 1922 watch, its internals are my avatar. I posted other pix, but man they're blurry and awful. I tried to just link from my Pinterest site, but I'm having technical difficulties through user error. Pinterest site is http://pinterest.com/contractlawyer/watches/ with my "accumulation." Perhaps someday it will be a collection. Last edited by mikkibarry; 10 January 2013 at 12:35 PM.. It was suggested to me to open a Photobucket account which is free to do and you can keep your pictures private...and then it is very easy to load pictures from there straight on to any forum. I finally to everyone's suggestions(Lisa...oh Lisa...where are you) and insistence from a friend, a Tattoo artist, who does some of the work I have and now it's very easy to put photos on here!!! Take it easy.....Leo

Okay, where were we? Mikkibarry, a 1960 Datejust shouldn't be too difficult to find. Are you looking for the men's or ladies' size? bbbbb '''7777777777777777777777776 Ooops. The hamster just typed that. |

Regarding the 1960's Datejust you are talking about Lisa, may I chime in and recommend Mikkibarry to look for Jacek? He sells a lot of vintage watches and I've seen quite a few gold models in his ads, perhaps he could help you out. My only concern is that it may be hard to find a model that has been precisely made in 1960, aren't the serial numbers usually out for a few years? EDIT: Forgot to add this in the post but thinking about the size of the watch and other details should definitely come before looking for a seller, my mistake...

I don't know if the Air-King was made in yellow gold - some of the vintage guys can correct me. The old AK did have a date sometimes. Maybe an old Thunderbird Datejust? I THINK they were available in all stainless, two tone and all gold. |

Mikki, I'm no help because I like all of them. So you're not opposed to a leather strap? That's good, because some of those older watches have shot bracelets - you can save some money getting only the watch head. You might hang out some in the vintage Rolex forum up at the top section of TRF. I totally understand a birth year gift to self. |

Oh that is AMAZINGLY cool. I kinda went nuts on my 37th birthday and bought an XK8 that I will never let go of so long as I can hobble out to it and open the door. And no, a leather strap is fine. I took the metal bracelet off my Chopard Imperiale and replaced it with leather because the metal one was a bit tight and I couldn't find spare links anywhere. These older watches I think look sometimes better on a good quality black leather strap. As for a 1960... I've been looking and it's really difficult to find anything that is not already sold or "1960s" instead of the actual specific year. I could always say 1959 since that was my conception date :-). Ah, the summer of 1959. It was warm and dark. What do you think of these? http://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-SIGN...item3a7d51fd84 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-18K-...item43b6efdff4 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Rare-1960s-R...item1c2ec258b1 (can't tell this one's year) http://www.ebay.com/itm/STUNNING-MEN...item257968ae9f http://www.ebay.com/itm/RARE-JAEGER-...item337ef6c342 |

Lisa, I didn't know that car was from your birthyear. I would of thought it would of been more like (and you remind me some what of) this beautiful 288 GTO from the 80's. |

Oh dear... we have very similar taste in vintage watches! Carl is going to love looking at your picks. The JCL triple date moonphase is sublime. I had a hankering for a moonphase a couple years ago and bought an Omega... but found that the dial had been re-done (and not really very well, either) so I returned it for a full refund (luckily it was a local seller). But the Zephyr is what made me gasp.... I think it's a gorgeous piece, and I do think it's somewhat rare. That one is in lovely condition. I wonder if the dial is original and has not been redone? Oh - I had to look up your car. Wheeeee! | |

288 GTO = FAIL! I had to drive my ex husband's after he got stopped by the cops who found his license was suspended (he didn't know that). His new girlfriend "couldn't drive a stick." The thing had no suspension whatsoever, so it felt like you were dragging your butt along the pavement. The electronic clutch was just crap. Regular highway driving, you're in 3rd (second if you want to stay legal) so what's the point, really? And then there are the rednecks a hootin' and a hollerin' to see a "chick" driving a bright red "I have a tiny penis" car. Any idiot with money can buy one of these things. It takes sophistication to have and properly maintain a beautiful classic like Lisa's.
