Cool hobby.
Lisa you could learn to fly. I know a guy with a flight simulator in his basement.

Thanks Lisa, you're such a sweetheart. Not told them yet. Almost won't believe it till I actually see it. Good things don't normally happen to me. Sure will see my parents in the next few days. Will tell them.

Have PM'ed Stevo my details, don't know how long before it arrives on my doorstep.

Thanks Leo, is that how it works. I'm up for buying someone in the coffeeshop a new watch, just before the next giveaway.

But if I don't win again, I'm gonna need the watch back.

Mikki, how cool is that...does your license and instruction cover flying by instruments and do you fly all kinds, makes and models???

My father was only rated for the smaller planes and fixed gear but(when he was alive) it was always fun to go up with him and I would navigate and fly once we were up. He decided not to go for his license to fly by instruments because it started to get too expensive and then the three of us/family happened and he never got back to it.....what's fun is most people never get an opportunity to fly in a small aircraft and see what it feels like cause it's totally different compared to flying in a commercial jet!!!

My Dad during WW II was stationed at Wright in Ohio and during the war was kept stateside working on sensitive projects for the Army...as the Air force was not created until after the War.....

Take it easy.....Leo

Buyer's Remorse - My own fault. Jumped too quickly on something without doing my research. I bought this:

It has the original warranty, is in decent shape (a few scuffs on the crystal). It's not the right date, and I've decided I really just don't like two tones, or the gold face. I may even want to sell my Yachtmaster.

Am I an idiot?

Well at least it has dark hands for better legibility.

Yes, I'm rated for instruction on multi engines, instruments, and single engines. And yeah, small planes are the best! Only problem is that most don't have a bathroom :-). The tanks are rated for 6 hours, but my bladder is only rated for about 3.

Mikki, did you just get that Rolex? It looks like the Zephyr which is kind of a rare bird as far as I know. Even looks like the bracelet is original.

No, you're not an idiot. I second guess my big purchases all the time. Always. It takes sort of a "warming up" period of time before I know for sure whether I did the right thing. This even applies to the babies I've had. (Hmmm.... what IS this creature? )

And with a vintage Rolex, it shouldn't be too difficult to sell if you're sure that's what you want to do.

Yes, I just got it. And yes, I feel like a nincompoop :-). I think it'd look a lot better with a white dial and leather strap, however :-)+-

Well, since it's vintage, I wouldn't mess with it - collectors like all parts and components to be original.

Did you post on the Vintage Forum? Might be interesting to see what they think.

Of course you are not an idiot. It's a nice tough TT Rolex watch that many women would love to have. I don't know much about selling. When I want to sell a watch I call DavidSW, meet him for lunch and he pays me a fair price.

Absolutely not! Making impulsive purchases is a part of the game and a lot of people do that at least once in their life (including this guy). I must admit I'm a two-tone fan myself but it's a matter of tastes, I wish you good luck with the sale of this watch (given what seems to be its good condition I don't think you will have such a hard time, especially if you had it at a good price).

Mikki, you are not an idiot at all and the watch is beautiful...why not let it sit around for a few days as you may change your mind and it may grow on you and you will decide to keep it. As for not being established here...you are...so if you decide to sell I would just go ahead and post it in the For Sale Section. Everyone gets started at some point in their lives when it comes to selling...so you can test the waters and see what kind of response you get...

I have always had fun flying with my father and he loved to goof around with tight turns and all kinds of maneuvers with take offs and landings and also putting the engine in a stall. It's funny but the last time I went up with him(a couple months before he died)for the first time ever it kind of got to me and with vertigo and nausea setting in. I told him to level out for a couple of minutes so I could get my bearings or as a choice land let me off and then he could finish his flight. He chuckled and said okay gave me a couple of minutes to get my bearings and then we had fun for the next couple of hours. Most people I think would kind of freak or get nervous as you feel every little thing when you are in a small two-seater. It definitely is a whole different experience and I sure wish he could of spent the time and money to be rated for larger planes because flying was one of his passions. And I feel he didn't pursue the flying because of the cost involved and he wanted to provide for his family......

Mikki, it sure sounds like you really have a lot of fun so please find the time to take your tests so you can continue with your hobby and passions.....I know I will always cherish his Breitling Navitimer and will get it overhauled so I can wear it and then pass it on to my son so he has a remembrance of his Grandfather...

Take it easy.....Leo

Art, those guys looked like they were having a great lazy afternoon paddling around in that nice warm water. Up here we are expecting single digit temperatures tonite so I plan on burying myself in an electric blanket and a heating pad wrapped around my right wrist.....

Also has anyone heard from Michelle? She has been off the Forum for awhile and I hope she is okay!!!
