Art, I agree...those old Breitlings are amazing and they are made with quality.....quality had a different meaning back in the mid-!900's and earlier.....

The topiaries of Mickey and Minnie were really nice to see...do you know what type of plants they used? Were they maybe a creeping Ficus(Ficus pumila as the darker green plant not to sure what the lighter green or white/cream hands were)? And the tree in bloom...which species was that may I ask(maybe an ornamental Magnolia of some kind)?.....I'm not to familiar with plants that grow down in Florida or further south unless they are considered Tropical foliage plants up here in the Chicagoland area. But I am willing to learn!!!

Art is the young lady your daughter who came for a visit? How long will she be staying with you?

Boy...I'm just full of questions today!!!
Take it easy.....Leo

Leo, I do not know what plant Diz used. I know that they grow over a wire type of mold and that they are stored and taken care of elsewhere on Diz property and displayed as needed.

The tree is a pink trumpet tree. I have a golden trumpet tree, golden is more common. Some start to bloom now and others at the middle of Feb, mine blooms at the middle of Feb, when it does I'll take a pic of it for you. They can grow to 90 ft or so and are amazing to see in person. Some say they are the most beautiful blooming tree in the world.

I wish the young lady were mine, she is my niece. I'm too old to have one that young. She would run me into the ground, and she did just that.

[QUOTE=FeelingTheBlues;3891180]Your shock protection device is just like mine, quite a pain to take out of the movement...I had to abort the service of mine because of that (I don't know how to have access to those screws yet)...

Those are indeed super tiny. Will your teachers tell you how to fix that?

I know how to clean and oil them, what I cannot do yet is take the hairspring off its bridge and have access to the screws holding the jewel.

That's a lot better than me! I only know how to destroy them and make tiny little screws fly all over the room because I don't know how to use tweezers right. Then I crawl around and try to find the teeny tiny screws and other pieces. I suppose it's quite amusing when you think about it.

You have no idea how many pieces I looked for on my school's floor, you'd probably feel much better...

Art, I looked up Trumpet Trees and they sound like a tree when in bloom I'd love to see. So I will have to get my butt to South Florida in the late winter or the Caribbean Islands, Central America or South America. From what I read they reclassified it in 2007 but from your picture and what I saw on the Internet...they are beautiful and worth the time to look. Then of course once on vacation I can check out all the vegetation.....which is right up my alley!!!
Btw.....I'm sure you enjoyed your visit with your niece and your brother and his wife...

Take it easy.....Leo

Ooh, nice piccies. What a beautiful place. Were you sitting in a room made of ice in that pic? And did your piano playing bring throngs of swooning mademoiselles to your feet? Who are those fellows you're with and what kind of beer are you drinking?

There was an igloo at the vodka bar, not much room in them things. All guys from work, Robbie had a genuine fear of heights, could you imagine. He didn't get on with skiing.

Er, not many women about, haha, the resort was very quiet actually. Although the hotel manager, she wanted to keep me..... so I could play the piano

All sorts of European Beer, Kronenbourg 1664, Heineken, Amstel.

If you ever see white/blanc lager do not try it. Hideous.

Wes, looks like you are having a heck of a good time! Very nice my friend!

I can't wait to see that watch on your wrist! In the meantime, enjoy the mountains and be careful, apparently there are some Yeti's out there...

EDIT: Seems like you already came back...was the Yeti nice?

Yep, I did manage to take this photo, not conclusive if it's a Yeti though.

That would be a good gig!

You need to hire yourself out as a pianist. Have you ever done so? Can't remember if I've asked you that before.

Not sure if I'm good enough for that. Yes I can knock out a few songs, but it's very different playing hotel/bar/weddings, than playing at home.

I don't think I have the time to polish my skills/songs, as a lot of time when I come home from work, too knackered to practise.

Guess just happy to have it as a hobby.

That looks like such a fun trip! I love the mountains! Loved seeing the pics.
And yes, like Karis said, you gotta post your new Tudor over here in the Coffeeshop, too!
