Indeed sir, I did very much enjoy your book. It was bittersweet, and I found I was putting myself figuratively in your shoes several times throughout the read.
Although our lives have taken notably different paths, I have lived a bit of a life of adventure, traveling the world (although not to the poles) and going through some extreme and interesting experiences. For this reason, I felt a bit of kinship with you as I read. I guess that speaks to your talent in telling your and Kathryn's story. Thanks again for writing this book and for sharing your experiences in this thread. As I was reading your book it made me think of my brother's trip to McMurdo Station last year to do some surveying for new building construction down there. The photo below is the Air Force plane he rode into the station.

Thank you Steve! Reading this thread has snapped me out of the snarkiness invading my thoughts in this world of social media and political debate. Seeing your pictures of raw wilderness, and the old adverts, this 50 year old was returned again to the meaning of Rolex, and dear life itself: adventure.
I will not forget your story. God bless.

Wow, great thread. Every time I look at an Explorer II I will think of toomuchtalk. You give Ed Viesturs a run for his money. Kudos.

Just bought your book, Steve, and can’t wait to dig in! I also would note how well it matches with my GMT rootbeer.

This thread is full of pictures - some really amazing ones. Go back and take a look, and you'll be glad you did.

Steve,
I don’t know you personally but I have been captivated by this thread and your journey. I’m ordering your book when I get off TRF. Maybe I will be lucky enough to run into you somewhere and get it signed. Thanks again for bringing us all in to your life Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

That would be amazing! I’d be more than happy to zelle or PayPal you the book fee and the shipping cost plus whatever for your time. I have a thing for signed copies of books. Hopefully if Covid is over by 2021 we will be spending a month traveling through Europe so if it’s too much hassle to ship I can pick up a copy and possibly link up for a pint and get it signed then.
