I found the 004 that I was looking for, but just haven't pulled the trigger yet. Not sure what I am waiting for to be honest!

Surprised some of these are only water resistant 50 metres. That's a very minimal rating. I thought that the level of construction would be such that it's higher and certainly buyers would expect higher. That rating barely means swimming pool proof.

50 meters is 164 feet--what sort of swimming pools are you swimming in

These are not diver watches and not advertised as such. They are SPORTS watches meant to take the G Forces that allow people to wear them while using them in life (car racing, golf, tennis, etc, etc).

Want a diving watch, buy a Rolex.

Want a ultra luxury sports watch that can take more sports abuse than probably any other watch, buy an RM.

As you know watches can experience the equivalent of higher pressure conditions and dynamic stresses that put stress on seals in circumstances that don't relate strictly to depth such as in surf. I would expect an extremely expensive modern "sports watch" with all the "tech" claimed by RM to be an all rounder. 50m is a very disappointing rating and indicates that the watch has very limited capabilities for water "sports" activities and certainly could not be trusted for surfing, kiting or water skiing, or perhaps even diving into a swimming pool or spending long periods of time swimming in a pool. In Australia "life" and "sports" inevitably = water. Apparently you can play tennis with it though as the 50m rating indicates it's probably perspiration proof!

For the person complaining about water rating, don't buy one--it's simple (as others mentioned).

Maybe we should remind those about the g forces RM can take, materials in cases, engineering, R&D, floating movements, etc, etc that make RM unique...na, that's too obvious.
