I used to go to a handful of Magic games each year, the arena is only 10mins away. But it became too much of a hassle, they now stink, they are bunch of babies and it costs too much.

The weeknight ones are kind of rough since we have a 14 year old who has to get up for school the next day. Who am I kidding, I'm the one who doesn't want to get up. HA

I've no idea how much tickets cost, but bet they're a bundle.

Do you have season tickets? If not, how do you get tickets?

On the serious subject of ham loaf, Dawna - it's actually a seasonal item he has available around Thanksgiving and Christmas. It's ground ham with seasonings mixed in, and I think when you get it home you add egg and bread crumbs and then bake it. My mother in law has made it at Christmas for as long as I can remember, and she always got the ground ham from Kamp's.

We don't have season tickets, but have friends that do
We have been pretty lucky to just get good tickets online when we needed to buy them. We had great seats when they played the Hornets last year.
Of course some of the bigger games are harder to get seats that aren't in the rafters and I would much rather watch the game from my comfy couch than the nosebleed section.
Some corporate tickets have also come our way, so basically so far, we have just kinda lucked into some good seats.

See, these are the things people who do not live in 'the City' do not know about.

All those wasted years without knowledge of ham loaf, right?

Whew... I gotta get to bed.... but have to ask if you know about Lovera's Grocery in Krebbs, near McAlester... that's one for the country folk. I'm not even sure it's still in business, but their sausage and homemade cheese was so good.

I'd better move my car off the driveway, so Royal Mail can back their lorry onto it, to deliver my cards.

Carl, got you some flowers as well. These ones smell lovely, but you have to stick your nose in really close to smell them.

That's the way to do it!

I didn't eat meat yesterday, my mother reminds us of ashes Wednesday and holy Friday as it's some of the traditions she kept from her family and that's how she was raised. When we were younger we would avoid meat (which we still do) and would find a thing to avoid during Lent (mostly chocolates and chips for the fat kid I was...). I personally see it more as a family tradition and do it mostly because I know my mother will like it but it doesn't even bother me as I almost stopped eating meat completely (I try to reduce my meat portions to 2-3 times a week).

...I'm having a problem with Lent though, I used to be proud when I was younger and could spend 40 days without eating a sweet or salty treat but now that I don't even eat them anymore I don't know what to avoid...

That's funny, I really wanted to have some of those plants before getting my bonsai trees and still want to raise some but I've heard they were very hard to take care of! What a shame!

I'm not giving anything up for Lent this year.
I'm already being very conscious of what I eat and pretty much just live to serve everyone around me and make their lives more comfortable. What more can I give up really? This Lenten season instead of sacrificing even more I'm giving myself the treat of getting by as best I can and enjoying whatever small pleasures come my way without the Catholic guilt.

I didn't give up anything either Bill, I've been giving up enough as it is.

I enjoyed going as well when Orlando had a good team. Never paid for many tickets though, just for a few playoff games. My buddy had access to seats 3 rows behind the Magic bench, you could talk to the guys. The Magic ownership owns many of those seats and we would be sitting right next to them, Rich Devos and them. He owns Amway and owns the Magic. He buys them up if the people don't renew them. Used to see Tiger Woods, some of the Tampa Bay Buc players, singers that I had no idea who they were. Some others. The nicest of all was Patrick Ewing he would talk or wave to every single person who approached him. We just need to get some players now, we gave them all away.
