Beef would be a good idea! I'm a big fish eater and that's why I prefer to use this type of meat, it's also easier to cook as you can let it heat and make it become a bit crunchy on the outside without having it become very dry and impossible to chew!

Let me know if you do it and how your daughters like it!

Ladies, gentlemen, perhaps we could play this music in the background whenever I'll invite you all for dinner at my mere apartment! Here's what I cooked tonight, anybody is interested into tasting a sauté à la Carl?

For those who would ever want to give it a try, I just used a bit of frozen vegetables (I believe it's Artic Garden's Yin Yang mix...or something like that...) which I mixed with fresh mushrooms and slices of black olives. Before putting those in the pan I put a bit of oil as well as some lemon juice before cooking a nice salmon filet that I cut in small parts in order to mix it with the vegetables. Once the fish is well cooked, you add in the mix and when everything is hot and the vegetables are crunchy you add some cut spaghettini's that you have previously cooked.

The dish is mostly filled with vegetables but you can taste a bit of fish every now and then as you finish it and the texture of the pastas really adds something to the mix. I am definitely going to try this again (I'm thinking chicken would be a good idea as well but the good thing about this is that it would make an incredible vegetarian meal if you want).

Bon appétit!
Ooooh, Carl, I'm impressed too! And now I'm hungry!

Now that's my kind of meal. Gorgeous preparation and full of what makes you feel great!

Glad I have leftover fish for lunch today.

Carl, you need to know that I stopped by Whole Foods today to get the ingredients for tonight's stir fry. I don't think it will look as good as yours, though!

Did you realize how influential you are?

I thought this was meant to be a coffeeshop? Carl has turned it into a fine dining establishment. Do we have a license for that?

Ok then, Carl, I think I will order the alligator soup. And make it snappy.

Oh, then I'll have the rabbit stew. Hop to it!

Or maybe the turtle soup? Take your time.

I don't need that kind of pressure, Karis!

But if you insist... I'll certainly try to make it look nice. It'll be the Okie version and not quite as healthy as Carl's salmon.

I know you're up to the challenge Lisa! And the Okie version is fine with me! I might even try a Texas twist on that recipe sometime!

I don't care to eat it either. I like "normal" food. My wife likes Guinea Pig meat which she calls " CUY". But lets not go there.

You know, I've never tried rabbit (let alone cuy) but I like to taste new things every now and then so I guess I'll have to add those to the list...

...Now when are you inviting me over to give them a try?

I did enjoy it. Had it last night and there will be enough for tomorrow as well. Rabbit taste like chicken, and looks like it sort of. I can tell the difference by the cuts. And if it's in a good marinade that's good too. You could feed it to most people and they would think they were eating chicken. I will not eat rabbit again. I have tried turtle once and never will again. One can find alligator and rattlesnake around here to. I will not try that either. I'm not a very adventurous eater.

Hey, it wasn't too bad, though I did set off the smoke alarm.

All the kids liked it, too, thanks mostly to the bottled stir fry sauce from Whole Foods.

Here's what it had in it:

leftover grilled skirt steak
leeks
onions
snow peas
leftover grilled yellow squash
bean sprouts
carrots
red bell pepper
broccolini
slivered garlic cloves

Carl, what's your culinary inspiration for tomorrow?

But rabbit has those skinny little bones..... blargh....

I cooked beef tongue once. Won't do that again, either.
