The Ponsot is really good, I got a lot of great savory notes, right at the beginning of the drinking window. The Margaux is at its earliest drinking window, drinkable, but clearly better with more age.

On the nose were hints of blackberry, raspberry with the unmistakeable plum you would expect. There was also a little tobacco and leather there. On the palate the wine was truly seamless - from start to finish. Definitely one of the best wines I have had hands down... I'll definitely report if anything changes with the extended decanting... Loads of dark fruits and mineral, and the tannins had mellowed nicely. Chappellet never disappoints, especially the signature cab and the Pritchard Hill Estate cab. The 97 Silver Oak had held up well. Still some nice red fruit on the front and mid palate but fading. Tannins had totally mellowed to present a nice creamy mouth feel.

2011 Wolf Blass Grey Label Shiraz.
Fruit came from various growers in the McLaren Vale area of South Australia. An intense and complex wine that could have had a bit more time, I feel, but brought by a friend so we drank it now. Still satisfying.
