Ah well, you see... my husband is not the father of my monster child. Her father dumped me and has since married someone obviously my inferior :-). Her father thinks it's a wonderful idea that she sow her wild oats. My husband, on the other hand, tells me to expect a phone call at any point where I have to run off and save her. So there you go. Such is life.

Husband wants an Explorer II. Everyone can chant "one of us, one of us."

Mikki, her "biological Dad" sounds like a typical male(wants to be her buddy or pal)who was not around to be active in raising his daughter or he "might feel differently".....now her father does not sound to happy with her choices...but knows you both will be there for her if you need to be. I trust both your passports are up to date but please hold off on packing a bag just yet. Bet she ends up surprising you both and handles herself responsibly.....remember she had very good role models to teach her proper morals and ethics and how to be accountable for her actions!!!

I'm sure I will not need to keep my fingers crossed.....Leo

Btw...white dial or black dial???

Mikki, please don't wait too long as it does take time to get through the processes...especially with all the security measures in place like Homeland Security. Now of course if you are an illegal alien...you are already here and can get all kinds of free aid and benefits.....if needed!!!

Go figure...just another example of our Federal and State governments hard at work.....

It was only a couple days training Art. Off for a few days now, so I can be a menace in the coffeeshop.

Menace. That's a good word. Not used often enough.

Good morning, guys. If the weather cooperates I'll be spreading out mulch and pulling grass and weeds out of the flowerbeds. Then at some point, off to the accountant to pick up Mom's taxes.

Art, thanks for the wishes for an empty shelf today. It's been so much fun... wondering if people will take the bait. And they do!

I have to laugh... I'm an alien, but not illegal. I definitely come from another planet :-). Oh, and he wants a black face Explorer II. Contacted two trusted sellers who are selling them here. bodybump must be busy since he hasn't gotten back to me yet.

Thanks Art. I'm ok. We've had a bit of a tragedy in the meantime where her favorite uncle on her dad's side suddenly passed. This was her first test being so far away, and it came unfairly soon. She's decided not to come for the funeral, mostly because she is really awful at funerals (as am I...doesn't matter who died, I sit in the corner with tears running down my face because it's just so sad...I'm a big wimp...go figure). The family is ok with her staying there. It seems to be going around, because two friends lost their dads this week. Weird how that goes in cycles.

UGH! Taxes! Ewwww! Reminds me I got a bunch of paperwork to get together.

Congrats on the empty shelf! That's great! Wow, would that be a wonderful idea for some shops here. I'm thinking about taking a big pile of stuff to the local eBay "will sell all your crap for you" place. What I really need to do is to find a good organizer who doesn't mind putting several days into just organizing this total clutter. It's not hoarding, it's just not having one place to put, for example, ALL the power cables, and ALL the ethernet pieces, and ALL the old laptop pieces, etc. I am so not good at organization. Working 12 hour days then being too tired to do anything certainly has something to do with it. I hate fibro.

Mikki, I'm sorry for your loss in the family and I agree...I do not like funerals as well. But life for the living must go on and we all cope as best as we can...

And I agree...why does it seem that things happen in three's!!!

Yard work...yay! I'm ready for spring! I planted some moss over the weekend, yes..moss..I'm trying to get it to grow around some flagstone in a really shady area in the back yard. It's an experiment. I can't believe I forgot to take pics of the 'Moss Milkshake' http://www.mossmilkshake.com/ after it was mixed up!
The landscaper is humoring me. I told him not to disturb my moss plantings.

This is on the north side, too, so I hope I can get it to grow.
We had some tiny little river gravel in between the big flagstones, but it washes out when it rains and always just looks kind of a mess, hence my moss garden experiment. After I put out the moss milkshake I read that it takes almost a year for it to grow to it's full extent. I think I may just have to order some sheets of live moss and cut them to fit. I don't have the greenest of thumbs or the most patience.

We have what they call Spanish Moss that grows in the trees, it's spooking looking at night. I think it's different than what y'all are talking about though.

I think what I'm talking about is called carpet moss....Spanish Moss is really pretty in the trees (in the daylight anyway, ha)...we have a place on the beach down in Alabama and when I start seeing that moss I know we are gettin' close!

You won't go hungry around here this time of year.

This grows everywhere and out now ready to eat. They are delicious. They are called loquats. Some call them Chinese or Japanese plums. The Spanish people call them nisperos. The trees can grow very large. The wild life likes to eat them. Here is how the fruit looks.

Yes, lots of it there too. They say it's bad for the trees but I like the look. Especially around halloween.

Loquats. I've heard of them but had no idea what they looked like. What do they taste like? The foliage looks kind of citrus-ey.

To me they taste like the mixture of a peach and orange. I used to like Molson. Don't drink beer now. Rum and Diet Coke please, extra lime.
