They look a little bit like a wild persimmon. We have those around here and they're lovely. After the first frost they are ready to eat - they have an applesauce like texture but are bright orange inside and kind of sweet/tart.

Heard of that but don't think I've tried it. Off to google land.

Not that I want to spoil the evening of the Coffeeshop's rock fans but I just read this in the Rolex General Discussion section...I'm really surprised (in a bad way) and am bummed by the news, rest in peace Alvin Lee!

Enjoying the mossy milkshake talk. Although hope you didn't drink it D.

This is heavenly for me on a night in watching TV. A beer and beef flavoured Monster Munch.

The magnifying glass is actually the tool I use at my school, instead of having it around my hear I'll have it clipped to my glasses...therefore I think you should rather call me something like "the ultimate smart android" or "the super dooper robot-ish cool guy"...something like that...

Stopped and took this picture on my way home from work. There were 3 others prior to the 4 in this group but the picture wasn't very good. I drive past a large piece of land owned by an oil company and the deer and wild turkeys live there safe from harm.

Good pic Bill. I enjoy seeing wild life. Believe it or not I saw a coyote the other day. Saw an alligator yesterday very close to the road. The deer we have around here are very small compared to what you have up there with all the corn for them to eat.

Very nice picture Bill! I saw one the other day while driving, it was on the other side of the road and started running towards the forest as I got closer. Thank goodness it didn't try to run the other way, otherwise he would have had to go in front of my car...

Daughter is departing at 7am from a S. Florida airport heading to NYC for some days with some friends. She is hoping to see snow. These young college girls seem to have it made these days. Lets see...what do I have to do today. Oh, I have to work. No, I 'm happy for her. She too works hard at school.

School is harder now than it was. More projects, more reports, mandatory community service to graduate. Kids don't have it very easy if they want to achieve good grades like way back when.
Yep, good for her. I hope she has a good time unwinding from the rigors of student life. No doubt she's earned herself a break.

Bill, I really like those "car graveyard" pics. I've seen a calendar of similar images. Ooh, that '59 Impala....

I picked up Mom's taxes yesterday and found that she has no refund coming and has to pay nothing. Fair enough. But it cost me $450 for the accountant to determine that.

And I feel really stupid about this - but about half of that cost was from my emails to the accountant asking questions about Mom's taxes. I had no idea they billed for phone calls or email (thought only lawyers did that!) I wish they had told me - or maybe it's just common knowledge and I'm more ignorant than I thought.

When I was a kid one of my mom's friends - a very old lady - had a '59 Impala parked in the shed behind her house. It was powder blue and perfect. I remember how I liked those "teardrop" tail lights. She hadn't driven it for years. Even then, I wished I had the money to buy it. I like to think that it was rescued by a car buff and is living out its years being a pampered cream puff show car.

That sucks about the accountant bill, especailly as you weren't expecting it.

Just been shopping got a couple of tops. Going to see a band tonight. Guy from work is playing harmonica, should be interesting. Think I'm overdressed in either of these Tomorrow some belated b'day drinks for me and a mate at some swanky bar.

I think you're looking fine Wes. Mighty fine. Both shirts are nice, but I think I like the top one because it looks softer.

My CPA bill was very high this year, not happy about it. I still need to get him stuff for the corporate taxes papers that are due March 15th. I'm not much to question invoices but I might on this one. He has billed me for the work and it's not even done yet. My fault on that though not his.

We had our taxes done yesterday at H & R Block and I was surprised at how much it cost. Usually Pam has done our taxes each year but we had some changes last year and we were not sure how to do the new forms so we went there to get them done. We do not have a lot of deductions and until recently alway did the 1040 Short Form. It didn't take the preparer very long as we were done and out in under 45 minutes but the bill ended up being $250.00 bucks.....next year we will go back to doing them ourselves. At least we are getting some cash back from the Feds and State so that helps the sting a little bit!!!

Take it easy.....Leo

Maribel made it! Rosario (her mother) was able to watch the planes progress on the Delta web site. She texted me that the plane kept circling NYC. Soon I got a text from the baby saying that they ran low on gas due to circling the airport due to heavy snow and landed in DC. She was exited to see snow for the first time. After re fueling they headed to NYC and landed. She seems very excited to see the white stuff.

Art, glad to hear your daughter made it okay to NYC and will be able to enjoy her trip and seeing the "white stuff" up close and personal for the first time. Heck if she wants next year she can fly up here and really enjoy the "white stuff" and do our shoveling for us. I'm sure the experience will look great on her resume!!! LOL!!!

Leo, she is a wonderful student and studies hard. But, she would not know a shovel if it hit her in the head. She has always had me, the mule to do that kind of stuff for her.

Art, not having a sister growing up or daughter of course has limited my experiences with females but doesn't that come with the territory? I believe if you read the fine print in the contract listed under the definition of "Daddy's Little Girl" it is part of your responsibility and accountability!!! LOL!!!

Take it easy.....Leo
