Wow that's very good, actually. The watch sells new for that much without the auction buyer fees (so tack on another 30% to the $20k for the auction price).

Anyway, its always comforting to know that if I get the watch and don't bond with it, I can get back (or almost get back) what I paid.

The auction fees are 10% so it’s 22k total.

Was at the low end of the auction estimate range.

30%... 10%.... 0.01%.... same difference to the issue I brought up. Anyway, who was the auction house? Do they have a Salmon Dial that I can get @10% over $20k?

I’d imagine if one was to be listed then it would go for a similar amount.

Unlikely anyone is listing their salmon unless they’ve misjudged their finances.

Here is the link, I'll keep a look out on if they get more.

https://loupethis.com/auctions/czape...e-terre-adelie

Some background, Loupe This and a collected man are the ones challenging the traditional auction houses with more reasonable fees and more. Loupe This are the ones who broke the record for the cartier crash piece @ 1.5m

If my memory is correct, Kari V wanted me to invest years ago when it was offered yet i was deeeep into a big property project so didn't. Thus, have zero conflicts, and in fact waited years until the Monochrome White to then get one.

I’m still warming up to the whole indie watchmaking without a watchmaker front and center. MBF has definitely forced me to warm up to this model with their shear awesomeness.
Oh yes, Max and Friends have changed the way many see high horology... and the possibilities. Would say more, yet am prepping for a review once the LM101 Willy Wonka arrives, so as a writer am keeping a few things on the down-low for now.

Czapek has also opened the eyes for many, as have other independants. After decades of being an active enthusiast, it's great to see so much creativity making it into the 'mainstream' viewpoint.

Thanks for sharing Mike. some good close ups of the ice blue in there. I am hoping to try on the antarctique soon and confirm my pre-order. It does look really good.

Video works fine for me. Great detailed shots on the dial and showing the hour marker twinkle which is a checklist item for me.

Nice morning in the garden. I just love how this dial and the indices play in the light with a slight tilt of the wrist.

Yesterday finally had a hands on with the PdD in black-inck. I was very happy with the end-result. Blown away. I would say it comes close to Royal Oak-territory. Rubber-strap is amazing too. Really stoked. Expecting mine in April 23’. Cheers guys.

Status from the boss as of May 11:

Rattrapante:
Chronode has faced an issue with the split-second mechanism and had to interrupt the production to modify two components: the tube and the axis transmitting the movement to the second and the split-second. Re-production of these two components has been launched. We will get pre-series in a week and test them. On May 19 we will get a precise timing on the schedule of the deliveries. Assembly should resume by June 15. We will be delivering some pieces in June and a many more in July. All the pieces already delivered have passed successfully the tests. In any case any issue would be taken care of as the usual.
Our delivery objective: all Silver Grey should be delivered by the end of September. When Silver Grey is fully delivered, we will immediately continue with the Ice Blue. The last Ice Blue batch should be delivered in early 2023.
