Nothing like a little selective editing, eh! For now it's been the written word; don't make me attached pictures! Used to watch Sandford and Son and loved it when Pops called dummy...dummy!

Good morning, silly peoples. I've been reading and grinning at the antics here as usual.

Our buddy Edwin from San Antonio left this morning. He'd come up for a visit. I got to admire his SS Daytona up close and he's promised to send me some pics of it to post on the forums, along with a couple of choice guns and knives. What is it about watch fans also being into guns and knives? And guitars?

And he's the bad influence on my husband, as usual - he was responsible for his Explorer II purchase last year.... now Dave wants a GMT and a Milgauss - green sapphire, or course. I think Dave should get them when funds allow - so I can move up to a midsized TT Datejust! We'd better stock up the piggy bank.

Aww heck, just run down to the AD and finally buy him one. You know he wants it. Why make him wait?

Like a typical guy I'm really into instant gratification.

Instant gratification is good, but we are seriously out of money for a while! In three weeks, we had to pay $16,000 for concrete work around the garage and driveway, and another $16,000 for school, and thousands more for other renovations in the basement and garage. We dad to borrow money from the inlaws! We'll save it back up pretty quick, but for now no watches. That's okay. I'm happy with what I have.

Or in our case, an OLD house that no one cared about for 40 years!

OLD? 40 Years? Cared about? I cannot begin to tell you the joke that crossed my mind. Hey, a little more detail on the house if you please.

My house was built in 1900 but I was extremely lucky in that the PO was a carpenter and he remodeled the kitchen and bathroom and re-wired/re-plumbed the house to current codes. But at only 1,100 sq ft taxable living space it's a bit small for most but it's suitable for the 3 of us. The cellar is finished with full carpeting, baseboard heat and a wood stove and the attic has been finished into a loft master bedroom. It has no heat so it is not taxable as living space.
Still keeping up with maintenance (for instance, I paint it by hand every 4 years) and upgrades where applicable and maintaining the yard and fence keep me very busy (poor) and Home Depot very grateful. I wonder, can I claim Home Depot as a dependent?

Home Depot as a dependent! Them and Lowes.

What style is your house? Victorian? Do you use space heaters for the loft?

I think old houses are just so cool. They do need lots of love/money, though. Still, I've lived in brand-new, mid-fifties, late twenties and late thirties homes, and I really disliked the new place. All of the others had soul. The new house felt like living in a cheap apartment - no quality in the construction at all.
