Simply...The Wine Thread
Gave this a try, a little on the light side for me. I don't recommend it.

Some nice Sonoma coast syrah, got a few more from this winery in waiting. Based on this, looking forward to tasting their other offerings.

Not bad for the price. Nice taste and perfect for a grilled beef!

Simply...The Wine Thread
A buddy comes over the other night and says I found a wine you might enjoy. Plus I wanted to see the new Coravin One Wine System.
Wine was good! Coravin was cool too. Luis Duarte 2013 Rubrica Red (Alentejano) Price around $50 .... Costco had it for $24 /bottle Designation: Rubrica Variety:Portuguese Red Appellation: Alentejano, Portugal Winery: Luis Duarte Food Pairings: steaks, hard cheeses, grilled chicken This is a wine for long-term aging. With a dense, intense structure that is still dominated by powerful tannins, it is dry, dark and concentrated. Black plum-skin flavors are just coming through all this density, hinting at the balance to come. It is a serious, complex wine that will not be ready before 2019.

Completely forgot I had these coming. Seriously gonna need to start selling bottles to clear space in my cellar. Anyone want some 2009 & 2010 Silver Oak Napa? Got over a case of each that I'm looking to sell.

Simply...The Wine Thread
Cheers! Our first time drinking this Merlot and I must say it is very nice. I wish it sat in French oak barrels rather than stainless steel. I would recommend it for a Merlot in the $30 price range.
Clos du Val Merlot 2013 Napa Valley, California Winemaker's Comments The 2013 Merlot is a luxurious, full-bodied wine showcasing delicate cmplexity. Opening with aromas of black cherry and plum, flavors of clove and blueberry cover the palate with a hint of vanilla. Balanced tannins and a smooth, caramel finish make this the perfect pairing for a multitude of cuisines. 92 points James Suckling- A silky and tight red with tile, berry and dusty aromas and flavors. Medium to full body, firm tannins and a fresh, clean finish. Refined and racy. Drink or hold. (1/2016) Harvest Harvest 2013 was the second in a row where we were blessed with not only great quality, but plenty of quantity. The conditions during spring and through flowering were dry with nice, warm weather that was perfect to establish a bountiful crop. Summer was plenty warm, with consistent temperatures through the growing season. The vines were able to ripen their fruit at a consistent pace with no rush to harvest. The weather was cooperative, with no significant rain to dampen the great conditions. We couldn’t be happier with these wines from an outstanding season.

1) Peter Michael acquired the land in Knights Valley in 1982. He planted in 1983. http://www.petermichaelwinery.com/About/Winery-History/ 2) He was knighted in 1989 by Queen Elizabeth. Everything else is correct.

2004 Penfolds Bin 28 Kalimna
South Australian multi-Region, multi-vineyard blend. Usually a fair bit of Barossa. Warm-climate Australian Shiraz. A little disappointing. They say best up until 2018 but I thought it would have benefited from a few more years and the rest will get it.
