Hey, I'm always lurking :-)

Today's my birthday. My lovely husband who does not assign me lists of chores or demands that I make dinner menus (thank goodness because the fire dept. insists that I give them 24 hours notice before any attempt to cook) bought me these:

My SIL told me in confidence that the only reason she stays with the turkey is that he has all their money tied up in the 1.1m house and there's nothing she can do about it. All her family (bros, sis, nieces, nephews...) is back east. She told me if she had to, she sell the house and get an apt back east in VA. She doesn't really want the 4,700 sq ft house on 5 acres, but got roped into it. My brother said this is where we are retiring. It's not debatable.

Bob, I know family can be a pain in the neck at times but I usually use these incidents to teach me how not to be, live or act toward family, friends or others!!!

Art, very nice pictures of your zoo visit.....now there they do post schedules for everything...Bob are you reading!!! LOL!!!

The one picture of the fish where many of them are blue look like they are Cichlids from the Africa freshwater lakes? It looks like many of them are mouth breeders where the males carefully dig out a spot in the sand. The female comes along and lays her eggs...then the male comes along and fertilizes them. And then the female comes back scoops them back up in her mouth and they incubate and hatch in her mouth. In some species the male helps once the eggs hatch by protecting the young and when there is danger will allow them into his mouth till danger passes!!!

Twenty years ago I raised African and New World(the Americas) Cichlids and had a Fish room in the basement where I set up tanks for breeding. I had 35 tanks and sold the young fish to pet shops. I also belonged to two Fish Clubs in the Chicagoland area...it was a lot of fun but when the Arthritis returned I couldn't do all the maintenance work and got out of the hobby!!!

Take it easy.....Leo

Yes Leo, they are in the Africa section of Animal Kingdom and are amazing to see. They are about 6 inches in length.

Thanx Art, it's kind of funny but I had forgotten and had to look up the correct term again. But these species of fish are called Mouth Brooders not Mouth Breeders...I also didn't mention before but in some of these species of Mouth Brooders once the male digs the pit the female lays the eggs, goes back and picks them back up in her mouth and then goes to the male for his Gamete Cells. Nature's natural "Or_l S_x"!!!

Take it easy(or any way you can get it)..... Leo

Hey Art, what happened to the animal pics. They were cool. Just finishing my first book on kindle "We bought a zoo" Amazing story of how an ordinary family bought a run down zoo in Dartmoor and turned it around. Thinking about buying a Zoo myself, if anyone sees one for sale.

I figured out what happened. I'll put some more back up in a bit. They take up so much room on the forum and I kind of feel bad about that.

Hey guys, the strangest thing ever happened today. I bought my first Rolex in 1998, a TT ladies size Yachtmaster. I loved it, wore it always, and was rarely without it. Then 3-4 years ago I lost it. I last remember wearing it into a friend's "wake" held at a local pub. When I left the pub, it was no longer on my wrist. The clasp had previously just opened several times, and I just snapped it back on, and never had anyone look at it. I figured it let go, and I was out of luck. I was very sad, thought about checking through pawn shops, had already tried at the pub, and was pretty upset. I tore the house apart just in case I had been mistaken about wearing the watch into the wake, but knew in my heart that I'd lost it there. I would have bet money on it. I looked just about every possible place there was, up one side of the house and down the other. Nothing. A friend remarked that Richard, the man who passed, always liked Rolexes so perhaps he took mine as his last farewell. I thought that would have been ok, although it would have looked pretty silly on him, being so small.

Fast forward to about 6 months ago. I missed my TT YM, and went onto eBay and bought one from 1997 at a decent price. Then I started my collecting. Husband decided he wanted an Explorer II, gave me his midsized YM, I prepared to sell the 1997 YM to wear the larger one, and took it to a watchmaker to clean it up and get it ready.

Last week, I heard that the pub where the wake had been had closed, which got me thinking about Richard and how I missed him. I decided to clean the house a bit, since it was kind of a mess, and started straightening up the bedroom. I picked up a piece of roll on luggage that just didn't belong where it was, and was about to put it elsewhere when I heard something fall to the floor. And guess what it was? It's not the 1997, because that one is still in Herndon at the watchmakers. After finally pulling the bracelet off (a chore because it was so dirty), there was the U serial of a 1998 YM.

Holy crap, eh?

Excellent. But I don't understand, was the bracelet with it? That's a cool story. How is it running? Wow, that's like finding a good many thousand $$$'s.

Yes, the bracelet was with it. It was all together. It seems to be running fine. I pulled the bracelet to make sure I wasn't insane :-)

Wow, amazing you found it. I've woken up in the morning a few times with relief to find I still have my watch, after a night in the pub.
