Thanks, ya'll! I'm very happy with it. I was a little worried about the size, but no worries now.

J, the watch is a new offering and is now on their website. I'm frankly not sure if Ball was planning to create this particular design anyway and my request happened to coincide, or whether they really did decide to produce this variation based on my request (maybe there were requests from other customers as well). The latter really seems unlikely. The dial was already being produced, but with a diamond bezel, which I didn't really want. My AD pointed out that all of the parts were already in production, just not in the particular combination I wanted, so he said it would be easy to offer the variation I wanted.

That sure is a very nice watch and I think the size is perfect, love the dial color! Congratulations my friend!

I hope not, because I'd be in a heap of trouble...

Remember, J? You opened my eyes to the Ball brand.

I tried taking one, but my camera can't pick up the lume very well - it's not as bright as newly-charged luminova. It's a low-level light, but of course it will always be constant due to the tritium. I can see the lume well in the dark, but my camera can't!

I don't normally like square watches as a general rule but I didn't even think that when I saw it. Maybe that it's curved or that it's rounded off but I liked it right away. It's a mix of old fashioned and new. I don't know. It looks like an heirloom and I like that.

Carl, you know what? I completely neglected to tell you how amazing that music box is! It looks older than 1950s - did your grandfather buy it new? Wish we could hear it... lots of people have music boxes but I bet not many really understand how they work. I just love that little bird, sitting on what looks like a bakelite perch.

Ordinarily, no... but it will be interesting to see how this one keeps time compared to my Rolexes. It's got an ETA movement, which I guess isn't unusual!

I really like the curved crystal... it's like a square bubble.

An exhibition back!

Bunny seal of approval. Can I scratch a bunny with my Ball watch? You can see that the watch is smaller than my DJs - it's 28mm by 38mm. It's still got ample wrist presence.

Nice watch Lisa...and a beautiful bunny!

Thank you Lisa and I understand, it's hard to concentrate on anything when you have such a fine timepiece on your wrist (congratulations again, I simply love it)!

I said the 1950's but my father was born in 1959 so there is a chance that he actually bought it in 1960. Still, the music box might be just older and it is possible that it had just been collecting dust in a store for a few years, provided that it's quite older than 1959/1960 that would be my guess as my grandfather was never a man who really got into buying pre-owned things (I don't know where I got that habit...).

Maybe a longer exposure setting on your camera, or shutter speed, to let in more light.

But the spouse is in the basement, Leo! All I have for entertainment is the 5 year old, and the watch!
