Welcome to the club. One of the best for your first PM Rolex.

The magnification issue has been well documented on the forum for the past year to two years. You should read up on it and then make up your mind. For what it's worth, it looks okay to me, but I would prefer it to be slightly larger. I have seen smaller. The watch still looks good.

If it really bothers you, a Rolex Service Centre may be able to do something about it. Hope that helps.

In any event, congrats on a magnificent timepiece.

Thanks fellas, yeah...I was aware of the issue but was so amped about picking it up I actually overlooked/didn't pick up on the low mag. Well, no sense delaying the inevitable...off to RSC it goes. Can't lie - the balloon is a bit deflated. Last time I sent a new watch to RSC, it came back with caseback scratches and lug marks.

Don't know. Never even bothered to look. I will do so when I get home. However, I think it should be the same as the gold comes from the same place.

Maybe I will post a comparison shot when I get the chance.

Okay, here are two side-by-side shots of the yellow gold Day-Date and GMT Master II as requested. Not the best lighting or picture quality but I can tell you I think both shades of yellow are the same, my friend.
