I went with white as I found the black to be unreadable

I am a black face fan & will be picking my new one up within a few months. I was told by many, including my AD that there is a slightly higher demand for the white faced Daytona's b/c there are numerous back faced sport watches in Rolex line-up vs. the number of white faced ones. With that said...... I am a HUGE balck faced Daytona fan!

White. White dial more unique and IMO more classic.

I went with the black dial since it was my first Rolex. As others have mentioned, Rolex has many nice black dial timepieces; and if you already have, or plan to get a Sub/GMT/Explorer I or II with a black dial it might be a nice change to get a white dial Daytona. Having said that I am seriously looking at getting a white dial Exp II to complement my black Daytona!

I prefer the white, but I have one with the black dial. Currently looking for a Panda dial, best of both worlds!

Got to be white. Black looks good from far but time is unreadable.
White goes nice with the PCL's. |

Black all the way for me. Then again I always go black with the iPhones too. Be interesting to see if there is any correlation between phones and dial colors when it comes to black and white.
Will add the Panda is perfect. To bad Rolex doesn't make it in SS and I have no desire to Frankenstein my Daytona. |

A bit of a tug on the heart to see a post from JJ Irani at the front of this long lasting thread.
For me, SS Daytona in white, legible and a bit more formal. |

I love both and having difficulty deciding - my watch collection doesn't help make the decision any easier,
E.g. Polar Explorer II, DSSD and the Hulk (white, black and green) |

100% white for me. I have too many black dial watches otherwise.

I have the black one for almost 5 years now and I'm very happy.
But as I plan to buy a Submariner Date (black dial), I'm planning to change the dial of my black Daytona into a white one. So IMHO, if you only have one Rolex, take the black dial, but if you intend to or already have a Sub or another black dial Rolex, take a white Daytona. My 2 cents. |
