As you can see Andy has met him and he was sporting the watch...so guess that covers this...

20% is a small % who like the watches, but 20% of potential Patek buyers is large enough to easily sell out.

So, what did you say?

I said "check I am still on the loooooong 5131 list as I need a 5131P to be launched at Baselworld 2017" and then another mail I said "nah ....it's too big for my skinny little arms" and I forgot to ask if I am still down for December on the 5930

and my gut tells me this is possibly a $125k watch on the grey market

Good luck getting the 5131, if you end up with the P that would be perfect timing! I'm a bit surprised the 5131 isn't discontinued though, now that we have the 5230, surely we are due a 5231.

Can't wait to see your 5930

I would think a 5231 would be logical

I finally saw the 40th Anniversary pieces and was totally impressed. Dont't judge them before you see them. The embossed 40th label is not brash but subdued and the diamon markers are not in your face bling but look fantastic.

I agree it looks pretty good in person! You can't really see the dial inscription, except at certain angles and lighting.

I was a bit disappointed they didn't let us try on the watches, but these pieces are going to the big collectors and the Patek museum, so I am not too surpised.

Without the dial text that does look good and has some nice modern touches. I think even if the text is subtle and only visible at certain angles it is a bit like dust on the dial and once seen cannot be unseen or unthought of.

What did you think previously? Did seeing them change your opinion, or had you always liked them?

I thought the 5976 was a winner if the diamonds were small and subtle. Naturally a platinum 5711 is stunning. Liked before and really liking now. We saw them under display lights.

The 5976 size is grossly exaggerated by bloggers who have not seen the watch in real life.

In seeing the 5976/1G and the 5711/1P side the side, the case size difference is not a huge difference.

To me, the 5976 actually looks about the same size as the 5524 or maybe a tad bit smaller.

Karl that's bad management, should have sold a kidney from each, and then sell them

I've got to say....I was REPULSED by the idea of having the dates on the dial.

The in person pictures look much better. I am still not a buyer for these, but possibly look forward to a larger Nautilus line.
