A 50th anniversary SD would be nice, hopefully as a longer term production than the 50th anniversary Sub. Maybe there is a greater chance of the longer term given that the existing SD is already out in a restyled case? In any event, a simple dial or bezel change would seem relatively simple for Rolex. Hopefully whatever they do in this regard for the SD or the GMT, won't be accompanied by the trickle supply and all the frenzy we have seen on the DaytonaC, although this could happen.

The thing I want to see the most is a SS DJ41. The makeover from the DJ2 to the DJ41 has been talked about a lot on this forum. I finally got to try on a TT DJ41 in Rose Gold and Sundust dial (very nice dial btw)..... but while better proportioned than the DJ2 I wish it were 40mm. I never understood why they took the DD2 down to 40mm and not the DJ2 to 40mm.

I'd welcome a DJ40 in SS but I'm not holding my breath.

so on one hand there are some that say certain models are slow sellers ex:SD4K and that rolex could potentially make a change to increase sales...

its pretty clear Rolex being a trust and not a profit driven company simply does not care about 'sales'....
I see it differently. I think their primary focus IS sales. They keep the supply limited to keep interest and sales for the long term. They're playing the long game. There are only so many models to update and change. So they stagger them and only supply some of what we want in order to keep us dreaming. Watch sales, just like the stock market, are based on hype at some level - not reality. The hype dies, the cache and much of the desirability dies with it.
They are a trust, but I'm sure their bonuses are all based on sales...

Some inttpredictions but there's nothing I would choose over what's available in the current line up.

I do love the idea of a 50th anniversary Sea-Dweller but that one doesn't look special enough for what it's supposed to represent.

So if gold Daytonas are released with ceramic bezels, will that mean the yellow gold/green dial version will be a 1-year model only?

I agree. Some too have desired a gloss dial like the previous generation SD so maybe they'd do that as well for the 50th? The Matte dial really is what sold my this time around, simply beautiful.

I doubt it, think the new YG and WG models with ceramic will just have different dials, probably simple black, grey and white, so the more colourful greens and blues will be on the metal bezels.

What is the high frequency movement that rpr talks about? I'm interested in that. I think I've only heard about that on rpr.

Those were some cool looking pieces but as it said at the top of the article, one guy's opinion. Didn't notice anything labeled a "leak".
