Man, I'm sorry to hear of the ineptitude of the police! Hopefully with it added to the Rolex database the rubbish involved will at least eventually be found out.

Good luck with everything and I'm glad to see that it hasn't diminished your love for all things horology!

Wow, sorry to hear this. A good thread to read for the "should I wear my watch to
___", if there is any doubt there is no doubt

So Sorry...

I convey my sincerest condolences to you. The loss of such a special watch is so bad. Keep your chin up, you will bounce back from this. I hope you can eventually find a replacement watch in the same condition and age group soon. :(

The police officer in charge was useless and hadn't even bothered registering the watch on their database as stolen two weeks after the incident. Still some discomfort in my wrist and blurriness in my eye but I've been told that will go.

Although hard at first considering no insurance and the amount of saving that went into buying that watch plus the injuries, I've managed to slowly let it go. I'm a firm believer in what goes around soon enough comes around over the course of a lifetime. There are laws of nature in this world that you just don't violate without consequences.

Thank you all for your kind words especially Sam and Haywood who were brilliant.

Will I own another timepiece? Maybe or maybe not. One thing I can guarantee you is that despite being watchless, I still enjoy this hobby and will continue to do so via this forum.
Disgusting lethargy from the police...sadly, that is an experience I hear time and time again in the UK. It's either the red tape, the walking on egg shells society we have or just a plain old national culture that is unrecognisable from 30 years ago. I'll stop, wrong forum! I wish you well and if I could afford to, I'd replace it for you.
