But if used in rotation, it's hard to fault it IMO.

That said, I'm looking for a perfect all-arounder that I never take off (I'm transitioning from a collection guy to more of a 1-watch-to-do-it-all guy)...and for that, I'm excited about the SD43! Good luck.
You're in the same place I was when I bought the DSSD in that I was also downsizing the collection and looking for a one watch solution.

The DSSD had just been released with the MK II dial and I fell in love with it.
The font and spacing is nicer to my eye.
After getting used to the weight I knew I had found something that I virtually had to commit to anyway.

All the other Rolex watches went and now I have both DSSD's

You're mental (in a good way). Both DSSDs...now that's dedication!

So if I had to choose one over the other, id have to go with the SD43
thank you both for your input! I think I will have to try them all on. will let you know how I get on...

Those comparison photos on page 1 are EXCELLENT!! They really illustrate the thickness differences for those considering any of those watches. I had a DSSD and found it too thick on my wrist - made wearing dress shirts problematic. I see a SD43 in my future!

I sold my Sub C and picked up a SD43, and I couldn't be happier. Such a great size for a dive/sports watch. Will definitely be a classic that holds its value like Subs do.
