I think you could not be further from the truth. I clearly see a different and more crime ridden society compared with 30 years ago.
Fact in the NL is that if you try to report a crime it's often not possible or by appointment only. Lot's of petty crime is never recorded and people don't bother anymore to report.
Pressing charges is made near impossible for ordinary citizens due to high costs and fact that all your personal info will be shared with the criminal through their solicitor.
Zero victim protection and culprits walk with a slap on the wrist or a few hours community service.
Believing in these political correct surveys looks to me like putting fingers in your ears and shout lalala, nothing is going on.
