Very odd.
Very odd indeed. The only other difference I can see besides the engraving is the shape of the opening that exposes the barrel. Do you mind sharing a photo of the other half of your movement? I wonder if there are more differences evident to the naked eye.

I finally called and wanted a price before ordering. I was told they were “hot” so not much discount but they’d have Jerry (the owner) call me to discuss. Never heard from him - strange because I had just purchased a watch from Jerry a few months before.

Long story short I got frustrated - I shouldn’t have to beg a store to take my business - and ended up going Chrono24 from a dealer with great reviews. The dealer sourced a new VC OS from an authorized dealer - warranty was registered - and I’m pleased as punch.

I will say Marshall Pierce will let you order one under no obligation - you can try it on and see if it’s to your liking - but I have a 7”ish wrist and love the OS!

How is the rotor sound on your Overseas 4500V? Mine is very noisy and metal sounding. My Rolex LV is silent, my IWC with ETA makes a similar noise as the Overseas but at a lower volume and my IWC 7 Days (Pelaton) makes it's own unique sound.

I love the look, finishing, versatility, blue dial, small details, etc. But that rotor sound is a bit disappointing as I can hear it pretty often.

Interesting. I don’t own the 4500v (yet) so I don’t know how loud it is, but I generally enjoy hearing the sound of the rotor on my other watches.

Hodinkee also has some photos here: https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/th...-lile-in-steel

The engravings on your movement seem to be on different plates from the above photos. I'd love to know what the real difference is!
Vacheron changed the bridges in the 5100 in late 2018 to incorporate the more efficient design of the 5110 (though the parts are not interchangeable with the 5110). That’s why. If you look at the bridge architecture to the left of the balance wheel, you’ll see the difference against earlier movements of the same series fairly clearly.

Best

Purchased my first vc today! Cant post links since I've been more of lurker on the site but I'll post once i can.
Blue 3rd gen chrono! Was on the fence at first because of how thick the case is but have gotten used to it after like an hour of wearing. It's such a beautiful watch!

The chrono is super big in every way but if you can pull it off and it is comfortable, then that is great as it is a lovely watch.

Wish they made these in 39mm. Tried the 41mm on and it's just too thick and not comfortable.

I find it to be comfortable and not difficult to wear. Keep in mind that im not a big guy around 5'7 170(decided to support my wife in pregnancy by getting pregnant too! Haha) . I think it's just something to get used to as i was originally weirded out by the size. It is by far the biggest and thickest watch I've owned.

I love how easy it is to switch the straps. Wore in with the bracelet yesterday and am on the rubber today. The rubber strap was one of the main want factors for me with this watch. I love how subtle and casual it is.

Thank you. I actually flipped the more popular blue for the brown. I’m happy I did.

That wears a lot better than I would have thought for a 6.5inch wrist. There's no overhang?

The watch shapes very nicely around the wrist. I have a 6.5 inch wrist and it fits perfect on me.

The integrated lugs curve down so it wears well for smaller wrists, more so than the AP RO. There is a slight overhang as you can see.

Great call. The brown is the best version IMHO.

How does the rubber fit your wrist? Still no overhang?

Thank you. Here is a shot of the blue dial on rubber. Lugs seem ok but the straps flare out a bit.

Hank, great taste in watches! How does the AP compare to the VC in your opinion? Was the AP the 41mm? Which strap do you wear the most with the VC, bracelet, leather, rubber? Do you find it hard to wear the VC brown dial with non-matching clothes or business suits i.e. wearing a black suit or dark pants with black shoes?

Sorry for the 20 questions!

Thanks! I always ask a lot of questions on the forum and receive helpful advices from the members so it’s a pleasure to reciprocate. The VC is on par with the AP in terms of fit and finish with the added convenience of the easy strap change system. I find it to be far more scratch resistant to the AP as well. The only thing it lacks is the hacking seconds.
I think the metal bracelet makes it most versatile. The brown dial looks more grey in most lighting conditions (except under direct sunlight) so I haven’t had any issues matching it with different color apparel. However, I do tend to wear this watch when I wear brown shoes and belt. Let me know if you have any other questions.
