This. It’s an underrated reference IMO but many find it expensive. I love mine with the sunburst blue dial. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I have 2 of them The original ss and Platinum bezel with the silver face and now a Yacht Master II Rose Gold and SS. I see these on peoples arms all the time here but I am a boating nerd also with two boats. This watch just fits my needs here. Ironically the dealer by me had 3 in stock. I haven't been in the dealer for years. I am just busy but my wife got me into the mall . The dealer told me they just got them in a few hours ago and they would be sold by days end.(Christmas season) I never went back to verify if he was pulling my leg to sell me the watch but it was an impulse buy for me. I wanted the II version but just never seen it till then. It was impressive.

As a hobby, I was a Scuba Dive Master in the early 90s and was in the Caymans every 6 months for about 10yrs. Diving and Offshore banking in the Caymans, the TT Bluesies were everywhere. My first Rolex was a TT Bluesy which I acquired in 1998. The Sub was/is a premier dive watch yet I remember seeing a YM for the 1st time and thought this is a watch for the "Seasoned Waterman".
After donning my beautiful TT Sub for 21years, I finally pulled the trigger on an Everose Yachtmaster Two-Tone. ...and yes, I scotch taped the band so it won't get scuffed on my desk. |

There are 2 answers
-in the real world, it is likely a slower seller because it is basically a “dressy” Submariner with a hefty markup. -in the collecting world, it is likely because people like to follow the leader. If a few prominent collectors started posting about their love for the YM, I bet the popularity would spread among collectors .

I love mine and don’t care about resale for a watch that I don’t intend to re-sell. I have the two-tone Choco dial and couldn’t be happier. I don’t need hype to be happy with my purchase.

I think it’s a terribly ugly watch I don’t know why anyone would want to wear or own one. ❤️

Love the blue dial but just cant get past the bezel. I worry i would beat that thing to hell and back and it would end up looking bad.

I saw one in the case at my AD on Christmas Eve. It wasn’t there a few days before. Stunning blue dial, gorgeous overall. I still prefer a Sub but as a third or fourth in the collection it would be great.

I’ve owned a LOT of watches over the years. They tend to come and go. I have to say my YM will never leave the collection. I personally find it to beautiful and comfortable to ever give up.

it's not as cheap as a Submariner, nor as expensive as a Submarine? It doesn't have (Typically) the different colour bezel, rather the early 2000s style. It's not as noticable to the non-rolex wearer? (although in my experience most non watch nerds won't notice any watch unless its bright gold and they spend an inorinate amount of time studying)
If everyone wore the exact same piece of jewellry then life would be extra boring. |
