They live here all year, they imitate a snake with their necks, they eat fish and frogs and so forth.

Thanx...it's always interesting to learn about the fauna and flora in other parts of our great Nation and also learning from others across our great big world. As you know I really enjoy plants of all types and forms and have a passion for knowledge of all kinds. It's what makes life worth living and getting up each morning ready to experience the world!!!

Take it easy.....Leo

Hi Art,

The show was fantastic. Very entertaining, witty. We have a spectacular 1920s restored theater in the city nearest me, so that was also part of the experience. Now I'm trying to convince people to go with me to "Jersey Boys" in Sept.

Love your critter photos!

If you were from the northeast you might say it was wicked good or even wicked pissa and even wicked pissa good. Can't get much better than that.

LOL. "Wicked good" is totally New England Yankee Northeast, not Philly/NJ/New York Northeast. We of the "lower" Northeast would never be that charming in expression. [insert wink here]

Back when I lived in Maine it was Wicked this and Wicked that. Everyone said it but no one could say it like a Mainer. There's an extra half syllable in there someplace.
Ask at any resturaunt "How's the soup?" "Wicked good soup today". Well how could I not order the soup then? They promised it was Wicked good. LOL
Pissa is more of a Massachusetts and Rhode Island thing but you can be sure that if something is Pissa, it's good. Maybe not the soup though. LOL

I'm glad you enjoyed it, thought you would. I like old theaters , ours if old like that. The Bob Carr Auditorium. I have yet so see Jersey Boys but hear that it is good. We have maybe 8 shows per season and I maybe go to see 3 of them. I really enjoy that. Two that I did not care for was Cats and Oklahoma! Of course those are two very famous shows but I did not enjoy them for some reason.

Pissa, I never heard. I just love all the regionalisms, though.

Out here in the Midwest, everyone drops the "to be" in a verb statement. So, if something needs to be ironed, it "needs ironed." I find that very strange and can't bring myself to use it ever. Early speaking styles really stick with us, don't they?
--
"Cats" never sounded too appealing to me, probably because the whole idea of cats doing things is not my deal. I'm a dog person. LOL

My English is horrible.

There is one song and scene in Cats that is very good, Memories. Phantom of the Opera is very good and a must see. Cabaret. I saw Fiddler on the Roof a few times with Topol. Saw his last tour before he retired. That too is very good. Lots of good shows. I never liked this stuff growing up. Was too busy wrestling and playing baseball. Now I really enjoy Broadway shows.

I saw Fiddler on Broadway as a teen when it starred Herschel Bernardi as Tevye. My folks took me to several shows back then; I didn't realize what a privilege that was. Saw Hair!
I was a theater nerd myself, spent my weekends onstage doing community theater. Got to be with a lot of strange adults. LOL

I want to like Oklahoma but I can't even make it through the movie and that has commercial breaks. It's the singing and dancing cowboys that wreck it for me. When I think cowboys I dont think about prancing around and flowery singing and wearing their heart on their sleeve. It's just not cowboy-like, or at least my impression of how a cowboy would seem. When I see a supposed guy act like that, even on the Internet or TV, I have no respect for them. Now if you took that out of the musical it would be much shorter too. I had the same problem with West Side Story and Footloose back when my sister wanted to watch them and we only had one TV. Now granted I know in the movies and on stage it's just an act and the men are no doubt very talented, I just don't wan to watch it and that's ok. As for the real life supposed men who act like that - well gee, I'm working on my tolerance.
Now it's not all musicals I dislike of course. I liked The Nightmare Before Christmas movie, Fiddler on the Roof was pretty good and IMO Legally Blonde was very clever and well done. I like clever. Giving credit where credit is due.

Two young English men rent a boat house from a buddy of mine, they are here teaching soccer. When the two of them talk to each other I cannot for the life of me understand them.

I hate to tell you, J, but I saw South Pacific with Mary Martin and Ezio Pinza and West Side Story with Larry Kert, Carol Lawrence, and Chita Rivera, among other shows of those eras.
