It is a matter of preference and some difference in price. Other than preference, and price, platinum is heavier than gold and something to consider. I would say platinum is slightly less easily scratched.. but in my mind that should not make a huge difference.

Both the Double Split and the Datograph Perpetual are amazing watches but they are just to big for my 6.7" wrists.

Logical, when you look at the hand positions for the LY and month, and think of the gears underneath the dial.
More components, more friction, needs to be geared 1:1, all so as achieving a different direction of rotation? Pointless and surplus to actual requirement. |

Over the moon with this one, a true WIS watch that very elegantly flies below the radar until you turn it over...then just WOW!

Hi,
I do not know whether this thread is a right place to ask, but let me try: does anybody know how much does the proof of origin/certificate of authenticity issued by Lange & Söhne cost? I understood that it is necessary to send the watch physically to Glashutte to obtain one. |

€125/£110. If you have a boutique with a watchmaker on-site, then they can photo the watch and send those to Glashutte. Normally, it takes them 6 weeks to generate and send the new Proof of Origin Certificate to the boutique. |

I have a strong hankering to just say F*** it, sell most of my watches and buy a Datograph of some variant to daily (within reason of course given the leather strap). I may have to sit in a dark room and avoid this thread until the urge passes!
