The Cory Richards/Everest models are unreal. I was wishfully hoping for a bigger release, but still happy that I was able to order a 7900V Blue from the NYC boutique earlier this year. Theoretically, I should be seeing it within ~2 months.

I’m so torn between the “obtainable” silver and black dials. Although even then my purchase history was recently questioned by the AD, so the grey market looks the most plausible route for me.

Does anybody else have this issue?! I keep setting my mind on the black and then I see a great pic of the silver dial and question everything all over again.

I had the black but prefer the silver. On the bracelet the black maybe just edges it but on any straps the silver looks better to me

I have the black and can recommend it. Don’t forget these watches wear large and i expect the silver to look even larger on the wrist.

Thats a good point, for that reason I would go for silver three hander. Since the black Chrono fits me well. Whereas if you wrist is a bit smaller, go for black

I went from silver to black. Both are beautiful in their own right. I just feel black is more versatile.

Has anyone else found the gen3 bracelet a little chunky? I have a gen2 chrono and gen3 three hander. The gen2 bracelet tapers more, despite the larger case size, and feels more balanced as a result. I like the strap options on the gen 3 but can't help but feel the gen3 bracelet is too wide, and let's be honest a lot of the appeal of the Overseas is the bracelet.

Anyone else, or just me? :) I don't have photos of both bracelets with me (can take some this weekend) but basically at the clasp the bracelet is about 1mm wider on the 4500v than the 49150. Not massive, but combined with a smaller case size it gives the impression of an almost non tapered bracelet (Omega seamaster springs to mind).

Yes, but a non-issue as I exclusively wear my 4500v (silver) on OEM rubber strap.

Stunning! I do intend to mix-match the VC Rubber Straps. I only have the Black on silver, but think the blue on silver dial would be awesome.

My 49150 is white and I am going to try and order a strap or two from the boutique. Choices will be limited vs gen3, but any inspiration appreciated.

I don’t have a photo yet of the burgundy, but here’s the other two. I wear the tan the most of the leather straps. The burgundy is a great one with a suit and a burgundy tie. I love the combinations the silver face can deal with. Once wore it from the beach to black tie in literally the same day going through bracelet -> rubber blue -> leather black. Look great in every situation.

Can I just ask if 4500 black or silver is really indeed trading at 20-30% above retail now? I find it hard to believe as these should be obtainable within 1 year of waiting

A 1 year "waitlist" might easily become 3+ once the switch is flipped from "available" to "sorry, you can't have one right now". That just pours petrol on the FOMO fire!

Vacheron boutiques in my experience seem to do things differently to Rolex, and some other brands, with an initial expression of interest being like the Rolex "waitlist". The boutique then later asked me for a deposit to secure an allocation within a specific time, which they massively overdelivered on .

IMO if you like it and can afford the premium then buy it now. However, if you can get a deposit down with a boutique you can rely on their suggestions of a 1 year wait (max). Without a despot to secure an allocation there's no guarantees.

I believe this relies heavily on location. Judging by some earlier comments it seems that in certain Asian countries the lists are either completely closed or multi-years long for any color. Even in the US it is not so easy. I’m already hearing comments of required bundling for an Overseas, etc. They are being more selective and I’m not quite so sure if you can just walk in and easily order a time only Overseas anymore, even with a 1yr wait.
But hearing some recent 1st hand experiences would be more helpful.

By ADs?

Boutiques are not requiring bundling on the overseas.

if ADs are then you should ditch them, the boutique experience is a lot better than the AD one.

The limited supply of the overseas is down to a few things

1) Vacheron only make “x” per year
2) Covid reduced the supply further
3) 1+2+ social media needing something else to pump after JPG madness

It’s a perfect storm right now.

As was mentioned above, with the boutique’s you’ll know if it will be within a year if you can place a deposit. If you cannot it’s going to be a multiyear wait.

It was an AD apparently. This was noted in the 'Vacheron Overseas Experience' thread. Someone had to bundle 2 other watches to get the silver time - only.

Some of the recent posts are very questionable.

Define Boutique?

For me Bouqitue is Richemont owned
Everything else is AD, even monobrand as they are run with partners.

The latter is not being dropped anytime soon.
