I always ask them to change the target to perhaps an African American. Would it be ok then? How about a Christian? If it's discrimination in that context, it's just as insulting to women. Its these types of depictions of inept women that lead SOME mechanics to give us rations of misinformation (and outright disinformation) regarding our own cars and expect we're too stupid to know any better. I was hoping we were immune from it in this group, but guess not.

This particular show is a bit strange in that we had Ancient Greek and sixties stuff in there. I likely could have gotten away with a pre 1969 Rolex :-)

But yeah, isn't it funny how some of those things sneak onto films? And nobody catches them until the film is out and it's a bit too late. it does make for amusing moments.

The super cute mini subs are 33mm and I love them. They're the perfect relatively inexpensive durable nice looking timepiece. The Tudor subs in general are really sweet little pieces. I have a silver one that I was lucky enough to get NOS. Poor thing is running fast, and under warranty, so it's going to RLC. That makes me happy :-)

And it wasn't even funny. Sad enough that women feel the need to separate themselves from the offensive jokes, but even worse that some feel the need to follow and troll.

You've always been great, Joker. Never demeaning. And you're right, my addiction IS out of control. But of course, I come straight to the enablers every time :-) Once I get the repairs back home, I'll try to get a picture of all my ancient pieces (almost all vintage, if you count +10 years to be vintage :-))

Thanks Mikki.

Very disappointed in doc, he is a personal friend. Grew up in the same small village, met him in NYC not long ago and will again this Oct. I texted him this afternoon and told him he better stay away, the ladies would be after him.

I thought Doc would know better....

Anyway, yep, I'm also of the opinion that Mikki needs to post a pic of her current collection... I've lost track!

Sorry I've been absent lately. As I mentioned to Art, I'm currently hooked on a TV series that my daughter got me started on. We're working through 7 complete seasons on Netflix. On these too-hot-to-go-outside days, I'm watching the tube with a cold drink in air-conditioned comfort!

"Supernatural." I'm not much of TV watcher usually, and at first I didn't pay much attention to it - silly demon-killing and blood and stuff for the teenyboppers.... but then I noticed the leading men. Um, Jensen Ackles to be specific!

Regarding the sexist jokes, I'll have to go with Wes and apologize sincerely if any of my posts were seen that way by you ladies. You all know (or at least I hope so) that I really enjoy this thread and that I would hate to insult anybody with an inappropriate comment, please feel free to tell me if I ever get on your nerves or say something wrong and insulting. I like to laugh at a lot of things and usually keep a very open mind regarding humor but no matter how much I let some jokes pass I think there are some places where some of them aren't welcome...

Mikki, your watches look fabulous! Not only is your mini Sub stunning but I am a big fan of vintage GMT's as well and I think both fit you very, very well, congratulations!

By the way, I'll try to post pictures especially for you tomorrow, I received a little something as well today...

Lisa, glad to know you still have some time for us! I hope the show is worth it!

P.S.: Went out for some sushi's tonight with my girlfriend and another couple, we had a lot of fun! Funny how I never got into that type of meal before a few months ago when I gave them another try (the very first time I tried some I think they weren't very fresh and got very sick, it took me years to try some again) and now I'm kind of hooked, I ordered an awful lot of them and ate them all, it was pretty good indeed.

Carl, if you don't about the show it might be right up your alley. No shortage of demons, monsters and creepy effects.

Oh, and I'm a big fan of sushi here. Sorry you had a bad experience but it's good that you decided to try again. I must say I'm not into the raw fish as much as the cooked varieties. There are so many kinds of sushi to try that would appeal to a variety of palates.

Lisa, there are so many shows I'd like to watch but alas the lack of television (and cable tv...) doesn't allow me to enjoy them as much as I'd like!

That tv show seems to be very good indeed, I know it's supposed to talk a lot about demons and I'm sure it would be interesting to follow. If I remember correctly they even have a special episode about Robert Johnson and the whole demonic legend surrounding the man, I would gladly watch that episode.

Regarding sushi, I'm glad I gave them another try as well. I'm not quite a fussy eater in general but after a few bad experiences I've had some things crossed out of my list (including lobster, I'll have to try it again someday), now that I tried sushi again I must say that I actually like all the different kinds, whether they contain war fish, crab, shrimp, eggs or cooked meat in them. The only ones I avoid are the vegetarian ones and that's merely because the ones I've seen so far contained avocado, a fruit I want to avoid because of...you guessed it...another bad experience in which I ate a bit too much of it in a meal in a Portuguese restaurant and got very sick. I can endure a bit of it in a few sushi bites but I try to take some that don't have any instead.

Wes and Carl,
I've never seen anything offensive posted by either one of you guys. The stuff you post that is intended to be funny IS funny to everyone, not just funny to knuckle draggers. :-)

Believe it or not I am REALLY open minded and find a ton of stuff funny. I love to laugh! Just sometimes, people post things that are so ridiculous that I just can't let it go. I want to ask them if they realize women can vote, sign legal documents, drive cars, and glory be...even be a CEO, CFO or run for public office!!! I know...it's shocking...I hope the cavemen were sitting down.

Lovely Tudor Mikki

I had a nice trip yesterday, we went to the beach for some hours (I had to get up early because it was a 3 hour ride), finally I got to swim with my Seiko diver
The weather there was really nice, 25C and a nice seabreeze, while 270km further inland where I live it was 34C (not so nice).

Thank you Dawna, hopefully no other inappropriate jokes will be posted around here on TRF, especially not in this thread.

I think it's great that women can vote, we needed more people to show Wes how to do it properly. Instead of putting an X in the good square, he would just draw an arrow pointing the good name and write "that dude" before writing "LOL" next to the funny names...

Glad to know you had fun Bas! I prefer lakes and cottages myself but going to the beach is always a fun trip!
