You guys are so much fun :-) Leo, how great that your wife found a Rolex she likes! It's nice to share love and appreciation of nice timepieces with your spouse. Wes, I'd love to learn how to play piano. For me, it's MIDI files on my electronic Yamaha keyboard. Trying to keep up with voice lessons but that's a bit trying during the summer with allergies and ick like that. Lisa, the spiders are cool! I had a mantis in the house last week. He was a little baby. I carefully picked him up and put him outside in the corner of the house with a bunch of bugs he could eat.

You Tube channels - Wes, I'll have to subscribe to yours. Mine is "ooblick" on YouTube. I also have a Vimeo channel for Discordian Films.

Watches: Let's see what else I can post..... This is a 1960 Buckley dial DateJust. And I love it.

Carl, I'd love to play some trumpet for you but I left the orchestra 2 years ago (after 5 years of playing 2nd trumpet.) and haven't played ever since.
I might start practising again and join a jazzband
You guys are not gonna stop calling me that anytime soon are you? I was very inebriated when I said that. I'm not handsome(anymore) and I'm not even a lord.

Thanks for subscribing Bas, not sure what benefits that has but is much appreciated.

Thanks! I had a boring old silver stick dial on it when I bought it. Then I saw this gorgeous dial being sold on another forum and I had to have it. I had to do some research to learn about the difference between quick set and non quick set, and pie pan vs. non, and all that other stuff, but wasn't totally certain it would work until I brought it to Dung, our local Rolex expert watchmaker. He made a little happy noise and said that if the vintage wasn't correct, he wouldn't change it, but this is perfect, so he'd do it. Off he went, and *poof*

As for Lord Wesley of Musicality, not to worry, the NSA has your original postings and phone calls, and for a fee, they can likely repost for you to prove you were intoxicated so we can find a more silly nickname for you.

Oh, and someday I'll take photos that aren't full of lint, hairs, and bits of dog fur. Macro is fun, but tedious.

Mikki, I'll check out your channel. I post up all my piano vids here so you are not missing anything. Sure you guys must be totally bored of them by now.

Love that datejust, interesting bezel, not seen one like that before.

Wow Mikki, just checked out your youtube channel, lots of interesting stuff on there. Lot of dive vids.

If you did want to learn piano I could point the way to some beginner books, and mail you some music and tips if you want, just let me know. I guess it just takes lots of time practising if you are dedicated.

Dedication is a problem. I'm working 12 hour days, and I get so very tired. Ah well. I want to know how by osmosis :-).

I had told Pam that recently they had remodeled the whole store due to Rolex demanding/insisting this be done and a new location and display area within the store was taken over and designed by Rolex.....

As we waited for her jewelry to be cleaned and checked she wandered over to where the Rolex watches are and the Pink Dialed DateJust caught her attention(the one with the Flower pattern on the dial and TT). The Saleslady who was waiting on us asked her if she wanted to try it on and of course Pam said...Yes. She proceeded to spend the next half an hour trying on most of the Rolexes and decided she wanted one!!! Well needless to say, next Saturday is their Annual Anniversary Sale and she is thinking about buying one and has a week to think about it...before the one day Sale!!!

I told her if she wants one...then by all means I would buy it for her...after all she surprised me cause she has never, ever shown any interest before. And first of all we are celebrating in August(the 19th)our 35th Anniversary. And secondly she is definitely worth it...especially since she has put up with me for over 40 years...so we will see.....stay tuned!!!

Take care as today I am off to go to an Art Fair where the Artist/Silver and Goldsmith who made the Sterling Silver bracelet I bought is going to be there and wants to see the bracelet again...and I will save that story for another day!!!

Be good.....Leo
Uh oh...Pam caught the Rolex bug. Happy Anniversary! lol

Yep, excellent film, although the feel was so similar to Goodfellas, same actors/voiceover that I was slightly put off. Goodfellas is one of my fav films

Goodfellas...Casino...Rain Man...all classics!

Wes, you're right about the two mob movies though, they are quite similar indeed but they do remain great movies. Besides, those two were made by Scorcese, perhaps he still had some ideas when he finished the first one and wanted to use them in another movie...

Bas, nice picture! Glad to be able to put a face on the name.
