Look what mum dropped round this morning. Home made chicken soup, and some egg pasta. I had eaten most by time took this pic. Best soup ever.

Ladies please help me. I am buying for my Fiance. Would you rather have the Black or GV Green dial Milgauss? She is around MRIs and CAT Scans all day and the magnets made her YM go haywire.

Thoughts? Pics?

I'm not a lady but I much prefer the GV myself!

Very nice gesture of you Tom!

To me any of the three choices of Milgauss would be a welcome addition to my wrist. But if she is working around MRI's and Cat Scans all day will wearing a Milgauss be enough to make 'The Difference'.....I do not know. It's good asking here for a woman's opinion on which choice to buy but I would also pose a question in the Tech Forum to see if there will still be issues with the watch getting magnetized!!!

Good luck.....Leo

Im baaaaack! Wow, its been awhile. I got to page 150 of the posts so far and I think I will read them at a slow pace cause after a while my eyes would glaze over. Great reading, just a lot to process!

Since Ive been here last I bought my watch (posted in main room). I decided on the DJ 36mm, white dial, roman numerals, fluted bezel and jubilee bracelet. Im still on cloud nine. Wow, I really didn't realize how much back and forth turmoil I would go through. 31mm vs 36mm, white dial, black dial, blue dial... oh boy! In the end I chose the white. I have seen quite a few white dials from other brands, but in my opinion Rolex has the crispiest white dial I have seen. Clean, fresh and classic. I still in truth think the 31mm looked a tad better but in the end chose 36mm. I still love the size don't get me wrong, but in 30-40 yrs, whomever might inherit it might find the larger size best. OR.. if I need to unload it to pay for my nursing home, will fetch more money than smaller counterparts. I just need to go back and get it adjusted. I had them take out 3 links but its more like I need 2 cause its unevern. Should be ok still.
Funny, I never told a single person in my family I was looking for a new watch. I casually wore it to my brothers Friday afternoon. He didn't notice at 1st then while we were having lunch and then he glances over and sees it. Starts to smile and quietly says..when did you get it?.. LOL He looked at it well then his wife came to the table. My sister in law kept looking at my arm but couldn't figure it out..then leans in and says.. "is that an R?!".. I said yep..is sure is. It might say Rolex on the watch but to me it says...F.U... Im happy that this new part of my life is starting. As soon as my sister in law left the room my brother wanted to try it on. LOL He couldn't get it passed his fingers cause was too small. LOL I told him I would make it bigger then he can borrow it sometime. :-)

I wanted my brother to celebrate as much as I was cause he has been a great support to me over the years....and I ordered a pre-owned Breitling Colt Auto II that should be delivered soon. I will give it to him this coming week. I do what I can to freak him out. 2 yrs ago I gave him a Fortis FLieger and he has been over the moon with that. The other brand he has wanted was a Briteling. Its a great used watch in NM condition and he will be excited. Its only him and I and we are super tight. And my sister in law said one day she didn't care about the watches cause its something between my brother and I. His buddy who is a pilot is bringing the watch back from the US next week. IM SO EXCITED.. We are going through a lot with my mother who has alzheimers and hell, he deserves a new watch as much as I do.

Leo.. so glad to see your wife bought the Rolex. That's exciting, congrats on that.
Wes, you mum can cook. And she takes care of her dear boy doesn't she?! LOL Hey,no matter how old we are, we are children to our parents.

Sorry for any updates I missed out on..I have to go back to reading again..LOL

I like the green Milgaus. :-) Would look great with scrubs and would be a conversation piece cause different than just a plain black dial.

Judy, I have the same DJ with a silver stick dial. If you are struggling with the fit you can get a slightly bigger link. I popped into Rolex RSC London and they put it on the spot. Was £42. I know more money spent. But has made all the difference for a snug comfy fit.

Hi Wes, no problem, thank you for posting the link. Im a slow learner. LOL I tried to post a pic for my avatar and either its too big or Im too fugly. LOL

I see the larger link now. I wonder if I just need a 2nd one on. They took 3 out and I think he did it all from one side. Its very short on one side, much longer on the other. If he doesn't get it right, he is gonna see me too often. And not to buy another watch either. ;-)
The jubilee looks good on you too. Is that the blue stick watch?

Judy, thank you on your compliments...as Pam still loves her watch. I catch her every now and then looking at her watch with a smile on her face.....

And a Big Congrats for you...as you picked out and bought one heck of a beautiful watch for yourself and the gift for your brother is a very thoughtful gift.....

Take care.....Leo

Judy, that was a great write up! I remember seeing your incoming thread and being very excited for you, congratulations again my friend!

I think the Datejust is a very classy model, when I was looking for a Rolex it is one of the very first models that came to my mind and the one I ended up choosing (though I went for an older two-tone 16013), well done on your choice.

As for your brother, I'm glad to read you are so close to him, I'm very close to both my brother and my sister and it is how it should be in all families (ideally, of course).

I'm definitely looking forward to reading what your brother thinks of his Breitling, they do make great watches. As for your mother, I wish you a lot of courage with her.

P.S.: Are your eyes grey? I froze there for a moment when I saw and couldn't help but getting closer to my screen to take a look at them!

Carl, thats a awful chat up line.

Judy, I feel I should apologize on behalf of fellow TRF'er Carl. He doesn't get out often and can be awkward and uncomfortable around female company.

But don't worry if you hang around you'll hopefully warm up to him.

Judy, I have a silver stick dial. I'm not surprised that there are more links on one side than the other. The clasp should be centered on the back of the wrist. Have to pop it open to see.

@ chat up line.. Wes, the clasp is way over to the left of my wrist, def not centered. Gonna hit the store later today and get that taken care of.

Thanks Carl for your words. My brother and I are 10yrs apart, Im older. I was a little mother really and he was my live doll. LOL I took that kid everywhere, and voluntarily too. My mother never had to make me take care of him. Glad he is my best friend cause you cant pick your relatives.

You guys always give Carl a hard time.

My eyes are blue but I can see in that pic they are a bit grey. Good catch Carl. But now that Im looking at that pic, its kinda creepy. I have bumble bee eyes. I originally had a face shot up but then I didn't want to be so public. I don't want to put up a watch pic. I'll have to find something fun.

Now now Wes, with a girlfriend like mine I have no reason or need to even look elsewhere...she's perfect for me!

...Besides, talk about the pot calling the kettle black! With all the romantic posts you've written around here to so many women you can hardly even try to call any of others' posts chat up lines!

Thanks Cecilia. Nice to meet you. That stogie reminds me of the one I smoked in Cuba when I was loaded. Damn all inclusives. Hmm...it was a cigar.. Ya... positive it was a cigar.

Carl, the more you pace, the more that truck is going to be late. Then you will want to do this . Try to meditate in the meantime. Well..maybe not.

Is Wes the Don Juan of TRF?
